    Hello all:
Looking to obtain a Female Shiba Inu. Puppy or young adult (5yrs or less) is good with me. Dog will be a pet in the household. Will be spayed if not. I'm having a heck of a time locating any in Florida that aren't $2000 or more.

I admit, I haven't purchased a dog in decades. Last ones were two Akitas under a year old a breeder decided not to show. That was over twenty five years ago, and I paid $200 each for them with AKC papers I didn't need.

Any thoughts? Am I crazy, or is this actually the market for this breed?

    Thanks,
    Randy

Well, with no one responding, I guess the market is crazy for this breed. So I bit the bullet and obtained her. Already had first Vet appointment and clean bill of health. A full 8 weeks and 2 days old.

    Showing her true puppy self!

Here’s our girl....we got her about 10 years ago and paid about $600 from a breeder in Oklahoma and at that time I was seeing them for upwards of $1000 - $1200 in other areas of the country back then. Can’t help you with where to get one now really but just thought I would chime in....they are really cool dogs and suuupppper smart. She is about 6 months in this pic.
