When I bought my used 2017 Tundra, there was only one set of keys. I need some advice on whether to buy an OEM Toyota fob online and get it programmed by someone OR have the dealership give me a replacement. I have no idea what each will cost me but I am all for the cheapest route.

    Thanks in advance!

I tried an online key place and got burned. Went to a local locksmith and got key fob with key and programming for $185 out the door.

    OEM fob from https://northcoastkeyless.com/

Had local dealership program and cut it for $75 which was cheaper than a locksmith.

It is my third fob and is now hidden on the truck.

    Remote start works?
I lost a key 6 months or so ago, and I need to get it replaced. Glad I found this thread.

This is great! They even have one with the key & fob combined. Thanks so much!

Remote start works. Make sure you get the right model. I am forgetting at the moment but there were two options for my model year. Just look at the fob you have to confirm.

Purchased this from Amazon. Local locksmith cut and programmed for about $40. So all in about $90. I leave my house keys in the “useless cup holder” under the AC controls, and it’s well worth it to me to not have to carry a big key ring in my pocket full of keys.
