I was all set to buy GM/Chevy until I was told they will not honor my GM supplier discount. I said way to bite the hand that feeds you. So I'm looking Tundra, what are your thoughts on the 2022? Had anyone seen the colors it will be offered in yet? Gas mileage? I like the TTV6

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! While I believe Toyota will continue their reputation of quality with the new design, I would not buy the very first model year.

The GMC trucks are garbage, don't end up like me. Also, why 2022? I'm pulling the same MPG in my 2021 Tundra that I got in my 2020 GMC (with AFM). MPG can be pretty polarizing, so I try not to worry too much about it.

There’s no way those two trucks are similar in gas mileage. The Tundra is the most inefficient gas mileage pickup in the history of man kind…LMAO! I have noticed this with friends that have different domestic 1/2 tons. Their gas mileage isn’t as good as claimed. While in my Tundra I find it very accurate. Idling kills the mpg’s in the Tundra where as the domestics are not as drastic. Hence why I rarely idle. Nice truck by the way (Tundra of course…)

I get 16-17MPG in the Tundra, I got the same or less in the GMC. Percieved obsolescence molded ambition may have been to blame. I had the 6.2 with the exaust and intake, and that was nice to hear.

And that thing 'requires' 91 octane, just like the 2022 Tundra. The math there gives the edge to the 3rd generation Tundra, imo.
