I know and considered it but don't feel like dumping nearly $500 for it. I have a tonneau cover on my truck and don't plan on using the bed much. Besides the fact that I spent over double my audio upgrade budget so gotta save somewhere.

Keep your eyes on Craigslist or even call a couple bed liner shops. You may get one for free or very cheap

How quickly do they dry after getting wet? Do they retain water or get mildew?

I ran the drain hoses off the tonneau on the outside after I realized how snug the BR was to the bed. Crazy that everything stays put. I've put all kinds of crap in the back. Never even stains.
The tailgate was the only challenge due to the plastic guard on the inside upper lip. I went beneath it and ran 3M tape down some of the ribs to keep it flat. The bed portion was super easy and the small cuts to accommodate the drain hoses, unnoticed within the rug fibers.

Would it be silly to only get the bottom/tailgate piece of the bedbug?

Silly? Naaah. It's your truck. Some might want a soft spot to sit down on. Lol
I'm sure BedRug would sell you one. Not everyone needs or wants one. Some already have a spray in liner and it's not that easy to hit rewind. I say go for it! No install costs and they are super durable. Give it a try.

I don’t have a bed lining and the comments in this group got me interested in the bedrug. In the video I saw, installation looked like a no brainer. But in a review, someone complained that it didn’t come ready to install, that the wheel well wasn’t molded and there was a great deal of cutting and fitting necessary for the installation. Which is correct?
