I'm picking up a 2019 1794 edition And the first thing I will need is a bed cover. I keep tools in my bed so I need something safe and I also need it to be convenient to fold up so I can put my quad in the back. Any suggestions for quality cover?

The BakFlip MX4 will do the job. That’s what I have and I am very happy with it.

I have an Extang Solid Fold 2.0 Tonneau Cover that is a pile of shit so I can't tell you what to get but I can tell you not to get this one.

It isn't a solid fold, it is more like a foam fold. It dents easily and I had two divots in it from the installer over tightening it so the company said.
They replaced the panel but said if it happens again I am SOL.

The problem is that when you dont tighten it it shows light where you clamp it down. Which means water will get in there.

I will be getting something else from a different company maybe in the spring

Not sure of your location but there is one listed on the Texas Fishing Forum. I can get info if you want. Dude is in San Antone. Cover looks nice. Non-fishing classified

My buddy has this one on his gmc and he likes it also. The two little arms that hold the cover up seem a little shaky to me tho. Any issues with that?

Not when they’re in use. They’ve worked very well for me. The only issue that I have is them popping out of the storage hooks when not in use. I’m going to heat the hooks up and bend them a little more closed to see if that helps.

I have the undercover flex. Honestly not sure how i should review it. I hate it, but i forget that ive used it for 3 years so maybe it “worked”

It was watertight for 2 years. But for the last year it drips water through every seam. The pull handle action is also worn out, still works OK. It has to be smacked down to engage all the latches.

The reason i hate it is likely not their fault. I don’t have deck rails so it is clamped on, the clamps fail all the time, even with red locktight and tightening. IF i had deck rails, it would go on with those and be solidly mounted. I didn’t know that at the time.

If i have to replace the bedcover every 3 years I’m ok with that. Next time i am getting a rugged cover. I have a 6.5 foot bed so im ok with the front not folding up.

Check out Truxedo.com and look at the Sentry. Its there secure cover that will still roll up out of the way so you can load a bike or atv in the back.

I have a Retrax Pro. Great aluminum cover that "rolls" up. Super smooth and fits very well to my 2019.

no pics right now but here is a good video that helped me decide to go with them.
I like that I am able to use the toyota oem bed and I can remove the cover quick if needed. It's also hard panels so they won't get slashed easily with a knife.

Waterproof/ lockable storage- put 2000 lbs on top and not have to move tools- unless there too big to fit under cover or In drawers

Lower center of gravity vs diamond back cover- al though u get full depth of bed

Steer clear of the Extang tri-fold. Dents easily, lets water in, and is too heavy. Not impressed and will likely replace it soon.

I got a bak flip before with my tacoma, it work very well for the first few years. later I found out the channel need cleaning like once a year because the dust other crap got inside the channel and block the drain so water went inside the bed and all my hand tool got rusted. The Aluminum on the panel is super thin, I put a shower door on top once and it cut the aluminum panel open. All you need is a coat hanger to open the cover because the cable latch that they use, so its a low security cover. In 6 years of use, I used the whole bed with the cover in open position like 5 times, cause when you have the whole bed full of tools, you don't really want to unload everything to use the bed and put everything back once you are done. So when I got my tundra I choose the diamond back HD instead. I just use the bed for tool storage and use the top of the cover for real hauling

I have a gator evo bi-fold cover. For the past 6 years I’ve had a cap and loved it.

So this was different approach, but I don’t want to sacrifice this back window.

Truck Covers USA american work cover - has a built in tool box and you can wire up to lock/unlock with your doors/key fob. No need to open/flip anything up to get to your tools. Could throw a light in the toolbox too so you can see your tools at night. Nicely built covers that index every 12" plus your sweet view out the back window wont be ruined when the cover is retracted. Final feature is you can throw a rack on top of the cover for surfboard/camping tent.. whatever you need.

Could easily fit a quad in the bed using the Louisiana (LA) guard dog. Works awesome.. used it all the time with my old quad. Just my $.02

I really like the diamondback bed covers but unfortunately I use my whole bed front time to time. I ended up purchasing the bakflip f1. Just waiting for it to come in now. I will post pics when it's on

I got a lomax from agri-cover. main benefit is they make a ladder / kayak rack that works with it for hauling a kayak or ladder and still keeping stuff below locked up via tail gate lock. But with a pry bar somebody is probably into it in about 30 seconds....
