Has anyone dealt with any of the local Jeep dealers? The other half is planning on taking a job as a regional clinical director and one of her dreams is to get a Wrangler. She wants to go 'froadin with me as well. She hates riding and wants to drive, but she doesn't have much experience, so the Tundra scares her. She drives it but she'll tap out after 20 minutes.

Does anyone know of a good Jeep dealer in the area? We're probably going to purchase before the spring. We have some time, but we both hate hanging out at the dealership, so we're going to use the time to gather knowledge, so we can be prepared.

Also need advice on Jeep Things... Also, not sure if we should go new, CPO or used. I'm leaning towards CPO just so we can get a warranty and avoid the depreciation. It will ultimately be up to her though.

My buddy purchased his 2020 JLUR from these guys for a good price. He purchased the 4 cylinder turbo and it scoots.

@daria has the fastest color JLUR....I drool over hers.

What are you looking for performance wise? Budget? If it's just you and the queen, Look at a JL wrangler and skip the unlimited. If you want the V-6 and don't mind dropping to a JK, stay at a newer year with the updated 3.6.

Matt, my co-workers son is a finance manager at Autonation Jeep on Arapahoe. Let me know if you want and I can get his contact details. His name is Matt Vandervoort.

Something midrange. I think we will pass on the Unlimited. She wants something smaller. She's a petite person and she wants something to match her stature.

Performance wise, I kinda want to do the diesel, but I'm not sure it's worth the extra scratch. She's not a car person so she doesn't really NEED huge power. I think the turbo 4 or 6 cylinder will be fine. I'm leaning towards the 6, but again, she's got the final say on this one.

Budget is up in the air right now. I think she's leaning towards getting something nice. I want her to have something nice. She's gone through a pHD program and hasn't had anything nice in her life before. If we get a Rubi, she'll be pulling my ass through the forest.

Excellent... I will hit you up when we're getting closer.

    dreams man, dreams.

So, she's been looking at stuff and isn't really sure what she wants. I'm trying to convince her that she doesn't need to test drive stuff right now.

When the time comes, I really hope I don't leave the dealership with no Tundra and a Power Wagon.

I got a fully loaded lightly used 19 JLU Rubicon this summer. From a Toyota dealer actually. Stock and previous owner was either a medical student or in the medical field. It was pretty pristine.

We originally looked at new but Jeep doesn’t play ball very well with pricing with very limited stock that didn’t match our wants. We got a new diesel truck in the spring and the MPGs aren’t that impressive so I was willing to pass on a diesel since regular gas is cheaper. We are a no kids household so we didn’t need the four door. When I test drove a two door, it felt super squirrelly and I did not like it. Once I got in a four door, it felt much more stable. I love the rubicon but I did swap out the red dash for the standard gray. Especially since I ordered black and orange PRP seat covers. Orange > red forever. I do mostly city driving and I pull 17-18mpg with the 3.6. I am adding suspension, bumpers, 37s and new wheels this month after my steering box TSB is completed.

We got rid of our PW and we regret it. It is everything you could ever want. Do ittttt. We go back and forth on do we really need a diesel?! The new body style is beautiful though.

Wheelbase is definitely something to consider. She'll have to drive both then. I didn't think about that. I'm not sure we're going to order one, but she does like those funky colors.

Making life hard on me... I REALLY like my Tundra, but it's absolutely no Power Wagon. Probably will never be either.

Those are cheap. Normally a new JL is 50K and go up from there.:D

Used is still pulling a premium. I got lucky on mine. The dealer had it listed as a manual online and on every car site. I can’t drive manual so I never looked at it because I was usually good at choosing automatic as my required category. The one time I forgot to check, I was like “OH! White rubicon, all the things!!!!” Then I saw the manual listing. But the pics were automatic. I didn’t say shit. Went to the dealer and the girl was like “hope you can drive a manual because I can’t!” NOPE. I told her to look inside... Automatic shifter. Ended up playing the numbers game and eventually brought her home much later that day. It was priced cheaper like a manual but was an automatic. Got so damn lucky.

As for the PW, they fit 37s stock. Add in some 3.0 kings in the front and 2.5 rears, it’ll knock your fucking socks off. Thuren is the go to dude for tuning. He also makes bumpers and rules the PW mod world.

Stahp!!! I like my Tundra! It would be so much cheaper to build a PW though... I'd want to go long arm.

We got dibs on buying ours back should the guy ever want to sell it. The buyers wife is my new coworker so it’s convenient.

Warning: you will love the PW more than anything... Might want to warn him your other half if you do acquire one... I came to terms with the fact I was #2 to his truck when I moved in with my guy. He’s still a little heart broken and she left us like six months ago.

I have had a ton of jeeps, was a jeep guy before buying a 4runner and converting. CJ, YJ, TJ, Commander, old square style Cherokee.

If you are buying something late model I would recommend either new or CPO. You want a warranty. I would not recommend buying from a private seller unless you know them.

Most people dog jeeps and 90% do not get the required maintenance performed so something new or CPO with under 20k miles would be good. That said, I loved the ones I owned and they were pretty good overall. All were modified and yes, I did have to wrench on them or take them in for fixing at times. They are amazing off road with some goodies, get awful MPG, are not pleasant on the highway, are worthless towing and need TLC but can be a ton of fun.

I really like the PW’s, and almost purchased one in 07. Only bad thing is how big they are for CO. My full width TJ has to bash through trails in CO.

However, if the PW isn’t quite right, the new Tremor might be up to what you need. Diesel option, 35’s, still good for towing, locker, etc.

I’ve had a second gen Tacoma, fifth gen 4Runner, and third gen Tundra in the last few years. My bf had six Toyotas. We also had an 85 Runner for crawling, an Ftoy buggy, and a T100 until earlier this year. Toyota is reliable but boring. Personally, I wanted better tech and something more capable for my DD. Cant say I didn’t try with toyota. :)

that is a big one... My trail selection is limited with the Tundra.

    Is Imogene Tundra-able?
