170k I have no idea when it was last changed. It should be good for another 20k miles right?

Even if you could get another 20 k miles why would you risk it?

Is this the one with all the rust on the frame? If it is, I get why you are considering holding on for a bit, but 20K is really chancing it. Cracks have already started to appear and for all you know, you're looking at the best part of the belt. I wouldn't even finish out the tank of gas before changing it if it was mine.

He had an independent shop put on a non oem less than 30K before that. I’d run yours with confidence :benchpress:
Our 06 sienna was at 140k original still looked good before we sold it

in all seriousness, mine didn't get changed until about 210K, and it looked a whole lot worse than that. (like seriously, a WHOLE lot worse...)

that being said, I'd still do it as soon as you can. but I also wouldn't worry that your trucks going to snap the belt tomorrow on your Sunday afternoon drive.

You're always going to have the diehards on here that are convinced that if you run your oil an inch past 4,999 miles and it's not Toyota flavored ice cream, that the only place you should be driving your truck to is the graveyard and that's because it won't even make it to the funeral home.

Serra Toyota is currently running a sale for the next few days. I think its -25% off ON TOP of their 30% off they already give. Basically you are getting OEM parts at half off and free shipping.
It would be a good time to order some parts in the next few days before the sale is over.

If that's what your tires looked like, would you trust driving on them?

If not, then why in the fuck would you accept it with one of the most critical parts on your engine?

I surely hope this post is trollbait, because ... Man. I'll stop while I'm still semi-friendly. :D

DANG dude made a solid score
The VSC and trac control and all being on is most likely air in the anti-lock brake system. My daily driver 4R will do that from time to time, just randomly crank it up and all the lights are on. I have learned to let it roll backwards on a hill to activate the anti-lock "brrrrtt" solenoid system to generate braking power and it will activate and all the lights go off immediately. Also you can get in the rain and punch the throttle to force spin the rear tires which activates all the anti-lock crap which will also make all the VSC and trac control and check engine lights go off.
The internet says the anti-lock brake mechanism has failed and needs to be replaced, maybe so but it only does it about once a year and all i gotta do is let the vehicle roll backwards on the driveway to activate the anti-lock and it goes away immediately.

Rollback to shop, have it pushed into a bay, new Aisin belt kit ASAP.

*Wife has the external hard drive unhooked but I have a pic of mine being rollbacked to a shop for exactly that!

She'll go 300 hectares on a single tank of kerosene
It's hardly the worst timing belt picture ever posted on here, but don't take that as a challenge. There has been at least two postings with cracks between each tooth. One was separated laterally with half the belt missing.

Again, this is not a challenge.

Been there, Done that. Definitely not as much fun as hitting redline on every shift with a load of sheetrock and a ticking time bomb timing belt.IMG_20260408_100231.jpg IMG_20260408_100231.jpg IMG_20260408_100231.jpg IMG_20260408_100240.jpg
