I feel like I’ve tried everything. Fine woven microfiber towels. Washed by themselves, air dried in the dryer then hung to dry. One cloth to clean, the other to wipe down.

My windshield will appear spotless until it hits a certain light and there is a bunch of lint! I’ve gone through this process a few times now and it’s driving me crazy. What could I be doing better to cut down on left over lint? It is mainly on the inside, but it also happens on the outside. TIA

This works. But also, I've had newspaper put fine scratches in the glass.

No, I stepped away from paper after I noticed the scratches, it was years ago in a 1st Gen Tacoma. I user microfiber towels now. To the op, I've never had a lint problem.

A tangent thought but, have you taken a shop vac on blower & gently blown out your vents?
Because maybe the defrost vent is part of the problem?

Every time I get a new to me vehicle I blow out the vents & the dust/debris that comes out...
It's now a part of my routine whenever I vacuum an interior.

Clay bar inside and out as mentioned above. Thats what I do then I use Adam's brilliant glaze inside and out windows come out perfect. The problem is your glass is dirty. As for the lint, I wouldn't use micro-fiber towels on glass the cheaper towels will do what you are describing. I use waterless wash towels for the glass.

I use the Griots Glass Cleaning Clay It removes all the contaminates just like the paint based clay bar products.

There always seems to be a bit left over. I just do a quick Passover with one of these and it wipes right off.

And for everyone recommending clay....while it does work well on windows, he’s just talking about towel lint. Unless I missed something.
