INTERESTED in purchasing a console safe or locking under-seat storage?

Hey, Y'all:

So it took me a minute, but Micah, Jamie, and the rest of the Sparks parts team came through with an excellent price on the E&G Classic split console safe (one side is a vault; the other open for quick access to storage and the A/C plug already in your console). Those of you following along from the beginning, know @k9shag found this for us at Southeast Toyota, where he got it for $255.36 last month. Southeast Toyota and Sparks parts are basically one dealership. Also, I verified with the manufacturer, currently the only Toyota dealership and only retailer of this vault at this time.

After waiting as long as you have (feels like For.EHV.er!!), to know what discount we could get, GOOD NEWS is, we don't have to wait longer while we build a commitment-to-purchase list. Instead, based on the strength of interest expressed on our related threads, they've offered us a STRAIGHT DISCOUNT on this safe, instead of a GROUP BUY.

The discount is -$20 off their $255.36 price (retail will eventually be $361.66). My understanding is, their mark-up is not big enough to make it worth the trouble to arrange tiered group-buy discounts. Instead, they just gave us a great price for a limited time. The only caveat is that the -$20 discount will be honored through THIS SUNDAY 10-22-2017 ONLY.

The discount code to enter at check-out is SAFE. I just tried it, and all works as promised. Note: if you prefer to use PayPal, don't select it when the option first appears; doing so skips the screen with the promo code field. Instead, select the Secure Checkout option, which will move you to a screen where you may choose credit card or PayPal. After you select from several shipping options, enter the SAFE code and the -$20 discount will be applied.

This safe/ vault fits ALL 2014 and later Tundra models that have the 2-seats with center console. I'd asked Micah to verify this, which he did, and also it says so on the Sparks parts site.

Finally, from today and going forward, we can use a designated Tundras.com discount of 5% on every item at Sparks parts. This will not be applied in addition to the special short-term -$20 discount on this safe, but for any/ every other purchase. The code is Tundras.com. For those in the know, Sparks parts offers 5% discounts pretty freely; the benefit of us using "our own", obviously, will be for them to gauge what kind of buying power we represent-- which maybe will get us great group pricing on other high-demand items in the future.

My pleasure, plus I got lucky with it being a straight discount; I didn't have to do any real intense behind-the-scenes organization. I get the idea that could be a bunch of work, so happy to miss it this time anyway.

Another best thing about an immediate discount is that we won't run up against the Holiday-Shopping-Can't-Buy-For-Myself period. I think I got mine ordered just in time to avoid that argument.

Anyway, I'm glad it's workin' out. I hope that every one of us that wants one can swing it in time for this sale. Thanks @gosolo for your help behind the scenes, with ideas about how to get this going.

I'm in. Glad I saw this today before missing the discount which basically covered the shipping cost.

 

Done....just under the wire.

 

Delivery came in today, will install after I get home from work.

 

I missed it by a day but was still able to use the tundras.com discount code n got 5% off! That saved me about half the cost off the shipping!

 

Crap, I missed it. That'll teach me not to be so busy.

My pleasure, 'cause I got the discount too. Sparks said they'll let me know how many of us ordered using the code. Unless they don't want me to, for some reason, I'll share that info here (to be referenced by any of us attempting a similar arrangement in the future.) Perhaps, if it was enough for them to notice, they'll extend similar or better discounts going forward. Worth a try.

 

I installed mine today, 10 minutes and this is a sweet upgrade. Now I just need to sell my tray and organizer.

Mine too! Working all tonight, gonna catch some Zzzzzz's in the a.m. then I'll put it in. Will be excited to have finally done my 1st "mod".

 

Install is complete although I'm disappointed. Two corners got bent during shipping I assume, had to straighten then out with pliers and ended up scratching paint (used carpet to minimize scratching). Good product, just disappointed with shipping.

That is exactly what mine looked like. The front and back corners on the safe side were bent to shit. Fit is still good though.

 

Wow. Now that I know there's at least 2, damaged, you guys want us to take it up? I haven't put mine in yet (hurt my back; probably not badly, but enough that I'm being careful so it mends quickly), but I'll go open the box and check it.

 

You should check yours. I should have taken pics before I put it in, but oh well. I actually didn't notice the bent corners, my brother did.
I'm not too worried about making an issue out of it unless there is wide spread issues. I don't even know who we would raise the issue to...

Side note...feel like I have less storage now. Better order the ESP under seat storage.
Wife may disown me but It would probably be worth it.

 

Yeah, if there's problems with several, I'll at least let Sparks know there's a problem with their (or maybe the manufacturer's) shipper, so they can at least get it corrected going forward.

I still want the under seat storage, and know others do too. Still haven't found a locking one though. If you have, can you post it?

 

Sorry to hear your safe’s were damaged in shipping. Mine looked good, didn’t see any damage...customers should let sparks/mfg know so they can ship with better packaging moving forward.

 

I agree with that. Once everyone get theirs they should check for damage. I really wish I would have taken pictures... stupid me
