I talked to the fidelity warranty spokesman at toyota, and she said ...
You can lift your truck 3" 6" 12" But it must be preformed by a professional and
a 2 Yr or 3Yr warranty must be given on work and defect., now if something happens you first go to that warranty, then your 3 yr or extended warranty would be 2nd in line.
If you do it your self and no warranty Moss case will not help you because no warranty was provided for modification, you will be on your own.

the tundra in parking lot for sale in lot had 2 " lift using old UCA and coil over metal spacer
and preformed by Cap city who toyota uses in V beach.
I you can afford to fix a problem with your modification go for it< if not up to you.

This ^^ is the crux of the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. Aftermarket mods do not void any warranty on OEM parts, unless it can be proved that said mods caused the OEM part failure. Yes, you're on your own if you do it yourself, but only on the modified parts, because, of course, Toyota doesn't warranty your mods.

The fidelity agent at the Toyota dealer gave me an example of the Moss act loop hole.
when you make a claim for say a CV joint, or UCA ball joint, and dealer notices a lift kit and differential drop.
the dealer will in the case of CV joint, compare the stock angle and the differential drop angle and if they do not match.
then your CV joint repair will be rejected by fidelity extended and or 3 year warranty. now it is up to you for burden of proof.
most people will not go to court over this.
the dealer will do the work no problem. But the warranty at fidelity can refuse to cover the repair.. either way the dealer gets payed for service.

And their example is the most common issue as you know with bracket lifts and a CV axel for our trucks are only 100 bucks so idk for all that it's worth that's not to bad of a repair any way.

Dealerships love to dance around and not accept responsibility or honor a vehicle’s warranty. While the vehicle is in its manufacturer’s warranty period, it is easy to get the dealership to fix and honor the warranty regardless of the modification of a lift. A 3”-6” lift is a common modification and do not negatively affect the vehicle’s mechanical integrity.

However, 8”, 12”, and above lifts can be more demanding on a vehicle’s functionality and mechanics. That’s why in many states (Lift-Laws), it’s illegal to have lifts on your vehicle of 8” and above. So, the warranty companies can capitalize on that piece of the law to get out of paying for repairs. It doesn’t matter if the modification was done by professional ASE certified technicians. It’s usually the luck of the draw with insurance and warranty companies whenever your vehicle has a lift of 8” or more.

Like others have said, it doesn't make sense for the dealer to deny warranty repairs when they are getting reimbursed from Toyota anyway. What am I missing?

I’ve always had dealers just look the other way. The only reason I can think of why they deny a warranty claim, either they are worried someone is looking over their shoulder, or the fact that they don’t get paid as much for a warranty claim.

The dealer will repair the issue no problem. fidelity could refuse the claim,. Either way the dealer gets paid for service.

Would carries the Toyota platinum warranty? I thought it was Toyota itself not another company? That’s way it’s only covered at a Toyota dealership.

    Update.
I talked to cap city who preforms all Virginia Beach checkered flag Toyota lifts on tundras for sale . They said they don’t install diff drops on 2” and 2.5” lifts., the drop actually wares out cv joints pre maturely . Then he said Toyota will not Denigh warranty work because of 2” or 2.5” lifted trucks. So my thread proves there’s a lot of miss information ... and the man said mostly with warranty agents.
