Looking at BFG AT 305/55R20 tires.

Shop said that I would need at least a 2.5 inch lift.

Recommended wheel offset to be no more than +8; if I am going to put fender flares on, recommended a negative offset.

Just wanted to get some independent discussion on that.

Does anybody have any experience with tires that wide on a Tundra and that lift height?

I have a '07 with the 2.5" and I have tried several combo's but no flares. You have to take mud flaps off and if you stick 9" wide and 0 offset or higher you should be ok. Maybe slight rub on back of front bumper on liner. I liked my 285/60R20 on a 20x9 +1mm setup.

What wheels do you have with that tire? I am having trouble finding an XD, Motometal, or American Racing Wheel that has anything smaller than a 10 mm offset, in a style that I like.

you can fit 35's with a 2.5" lift. I have 295/55/20 on a 1.5" lift and there is plenty of room for more tire. I would not go with a negative offset because the tires will stick too far out (unless that is the look that you are going for). if you are going with a 2.5" lift and fender flares, I would recommend a 295/60/20 with 20x9 wheels with either a +18 or +25 offset.

^^ what he said. I have 3"/1.5" lift with 20x9 +18 mounted on 295/60/20 tires. I removed the mudflaps and add to massage the front fender liner some with a heat gun. Wheels stick out a little bit. I'm not running flares.
