I've been doing some learning and investigating on leveling my new 2018 CM and upgrading wheels and tires and this forum is awesome to find some answers and learn from others experience. Thanks all for for the education. With that said, I think the direction I will take is to level with the 5100s. I'm not doing much if any off road anymore (old man with a nice truck) and looking to improve appearance and ride. Here's my questions:

    1. I know tires and wheels will cost in the $2000-$2500 range, what should the level cost if I package together. The custom shop at the dealer quoted around $2100 for front and rear which will include, realignment, speedometer calibration, and TSS calibration. This sounds high to me, and what really needs to be calibrated?

    2. What's the right size tire to use after I level, and I realize this can subjective, but I do not want to rub or alter wells and I do not want to look like the tires aren't big enough. Will use 18" wheels.

    3. Am I better off working with the dealer and building a relationship if any warranty issues come up later? I haven't shopped around yet and have heard conflicting feedback on the 4 wheel and off road shops here.

    Thanks for any support...

So look at my picture next to name. I had my dealer put the level kit and tires 275/70/18..I spent about $2k for all of it

Also be advised that you may still have TSS issues after doing all the above.

Not trying to Jack this thing up, but am I reading that right. $2100 to put a leveling kit on and mounting , balance, and alignment, speed odometer cal. Pardon me , that's insanely expensive. I'm getting 6112's, shims, and CB bump stops installed up front. 5100's and 1" block kit installed in rear. Spyder Trak spacers installed. Mounting, balance, and alignment for $415. Now i felt like i hit the lottery when i got that quote and made the appointment immediately. I also called around and got multiple quotes with the highest being around $700. I would definitely get a 2nd opinion. Just my .02.

I've been calling around for estimates and if I buy the preassemled 6112's for the front and just have the factory assembly removed and replaced by the 6112 I'm getting quotes of around $250-300 with alignment.

For just the front and alignment that's right on the mark.

Even if you get large 35” tires, your speedo will be off less than 5 mph on the freeway. Unnoticeable on the streets. Smaller tires... even less. Not the biggest deal to not correct the speedo. And yeah, $2100 is way high.

So I must have "Sucker" written all over my face because I called around and got some quotes for front and rear 5100's for $700-$800 which still seems a bit high but better. The funny part is I called the dealer customs shop and requested a quote and he comes back with $1200. LMAO!

I asked him about the TSS and he said there is a calibration process that is included but my spidey-sense is tingling. Maybe I should call back and see if comes with a flux capacitor too... Thoughts on a TSS calibration?

I wouldn't say that bro, you sensed some BS, I would look for a small well known shop that's reputable and get a few more opinions. It's hard to trust anybody these day's. :spy::spy:

Level kit 35” tires, interior n lights.
My 07 CM yup I’m a late bloomer I recently leveled it with Bilsteins 6112 in the front due to the Crewmax is heavier then the double cab n 5100 in rear. Added KMC XD series 18” with 35” tires total cost $3400. Love it don’t know what I was waiting for. Worth every penny

So they're preassemled? Does this price include rear installation of anything? If not preassemled they'll have to compress your spring to remove the cap then compress the 6112 spring to install the cap. Preassemled is just take factory out and throw 6112 in, about 1 hour roughly per side.

The price was just parts I did all the work myself except mount n balance the tires. You can get the front coil overs assemble or just compress the spring yourself. Just unbolt the lower control arm don’t mess with the upper control arm. And mark the dials on the control arm bolts so it won’t be out of aliagnment to much. It’s a bit of work. Then get an aliainment afterwards

Just my experience after leveling your upper control arms will point down a bit I strongly advise putting larger tires on after you level it.

The sensors in the grille/front can be recalibrated just like the BSM sensors in the rear bumper. In the simplest terms, the sensors come uncalibrated, they are installed and calibrated on vehicle. I would assume that our small lifts are still within spec, as the system self detects very well. Calibration is a complicated process that requires a lot of shop space, and leaves a lot of room for human error. Might not find many Toyota dealers wanting or willing to do it, Toyota says no lift. I’m not gonna give mine a thought unless there is an issue.
