I thought about doing that, using a Land Cruiser power antenna. Never could find one to test it out though. I ended up buying a Votex reduced-height (but not stubby, so it still works great) antenna. No longer scrape antenna in parking decks anymore. Looks good too.

Were power antennas not an option on FGTs? I had one (that was broken) on a T100, so I sorta assumed it must have been available on the Tundra, too.

Never seen one. Not even on a double cab. Someone on here said it was possible on Sequoia, but I still haven’t seen proof yet.

I wonder if one from a 4Runner could be fitted. My 2001 4Runner has one.

Who still uses the radio? Maybe it's just that the stations in my area are garbage, but removing my antenna was literally the first thing I did to my truck.

Just like teevee, radio is pure garbage and I quit both decades ago. I have a bunch of antennas leaning in a corner of my shop.

I still have my OEM HU. Got rid of cassette and CDs long time ago. I listen to FM radio mostly rock stations, some country and NPR. Son put a BT adaptor plugged into aux port a decade ago but I never use it.

There’s an excellent classic rock station here and a talk radio channel that covers local sports and whatnot that I listen to using my old ass antenna and frequency modulation.

I’ve got my OEM head unit too- but I actually play cassettes and CDs all the time. My parents gave me their huge CD and cassette collections that they still had for some reason.

I do so many highway miles with my truck than it’s fun to listen to what my parents liked. Unlike most people my age, I love listening to albums start to finish.

I kept the original CD changer in my Lexus, the sound quality is so good it’s addicting. That system is unreal.

The main thing I do not miss about CDs is the days of driving around with the giant books full of thousands of dollars worth of CDs. If your car ever got broken into, there went a good chunk of your music collection. Had friends that had their cars stolen and were more upset over the loss of the CDs than the vehicle.

When I still had my stock HU I kept a few CDs in my truck for when driving in areas without cell coverage if I got tired of what was downloaded on my phone. I should throw some stuff on a thumb drive to use with my Alpine HU. Take advantage of all those download codes I get with records.

I'm that guy. Happened to me back in 2003-2004. And they got a bunch of discs I'm sure they threw away, not realizing they were totally irreplaceable. Things that sell on Discogs and fleaBay for $50-150, if/when they ever come avaialble.

Yeah, those limited CDs always hurt if they got lost or even slightly scratched.

My double sided visor CD holder got stolen out of my truck back in 1996. They stole my JL 10” also, but not my head unit which had the removal keys in the center console. Stole my change too the bastards. I bought my 8” solo-basic to replace the 10” JL. Still have that sub, it’s what’s in my truck now. 30yrs is a solid run for a sub.

Losing music media via theft sucks. Replacing entire media format collections and players due to 'new and improved' again and again... truly sucks! Over the years in my vehicles.... 8-track, cassette, CD, minidisc, multiple digital formats from MP3 to Lossless. My Tundra OEM radio is a testament to the insanity equipped with both cassette and CD player. Now I'm paying a monthly premium to stream music to the same radio using a bluetooth/FM device. sigh...

Just got the truck in September.
    Replaced myself:
    Lower Control Arms
    Lower Ball Joints
Bilstein 5100 with Dobinson 1.75 lift (wanted the 6112 couldnt get it anywhere)
    ATS HD lift pack
    Suspension Max links
    Carrier bearing
    Replaced all fluids and oils

    Took to a shop for:
Timing Belt Service with all the goods
    Bad wheel bearing

All in all everything is great. Really have enjoyed the project and some pictures above were our first major adventure to Bryce Canyon. Glad to join, hope to add a few more features down the line and pictures

Nice looking rig. Good to see folks out enjoying nature's beauty.

How useful do you find the awning? In your pic it seems to be doing little more than shading the side of your bed. I'm curious if you find it useful enough to earn its keep?

There have been times when I wished I'd had one in the rain while camping, but most of the areas I camp in the PNW have enough trees I wouldn't buy anything for shade.
