Bro has a 2006 Camry and a 2007ish Sienna. Dad's '05 is also a DC but has double the mileage of mine and is in rougher shape.

I traded dad my 2013 Corolla S for my truck.

    Solid 8/10.

    Pros:
    - super comfortable, easily the best road trip vehicle i've ever had.
    - radar cruise control is awesome
    - tows like a champ, with power to spare
    - turbo whistle is hawt
    - headlights are fantastic
    - heated seats and steering wheel are great in our winters
    - no major issues to date
    - it's paid off, so no monthly payment

    Cons:
    - the whole engine replacement thing. i should be getting a new engine at some point, but having my truck torn apart like that sucks
    - there are too many nannies, sensors, bells, dings etc. I can't back up in the woods or tall grass without turning off a bunch of stuff or else the truck screams at me and slams on the brakes
    - minor fit and finish items, likely due to it being the first year of a new model and mid Great Panic build. More recent 3rd gens don't seem to have them.
    - coil spring rear suspension. I had to add Timbrens to reduce sag and improve towing for my big boat (3000ish pounds, 400lb ish tongue weight). Coils are comfortable, but don't belong in a pickup.

I think if I could go back in time, I would try to find a low mileage 2021 TRD Pro. But considering what prices were for them back then and what I paid for my '22, I'm happy with my purchase. I have no issues recommending 3rd Gens to most people.

I want to see the ones you took with your truck parked on the higher plane, next to mine in the deep rut.

So far my only complaints are the road noise and they smashed my washer fluid reservoir. So I call it a win. Maybe if I had gone with the 1.5" BL, I'd have saved the washer fluid reservoir. But honestly, that extra 0.5" would have just made me try to fit 37"s and then smash it.
Plus then I'd probably have to tub the firewall.

I've already hammered and cut. Not too much else I could do without major surgery.

Evening everyone. I bought a first gen, and after reading the "so you want to buy a first gen" thread I decided to register. Image attached. It's got issues like any 20+ year old truck would but the frame and the interior are mint. It needs valve cover gaskets, likely a brake bleed (parking brake holds well so I think the rear drums are good), and to figure out the random rattles/clunks as i drive with the windows down. I already checked the timing belt after reading the thread and it looks relatively fresh. Trans fluid is red and clear, brake fluid is clear too. I think this truck was taken care of.

Awesome! Welcome to the best gen crew!
I'm always jealous when I see a blue first gen, especially an AC.

Like that wheel/tire combo. You just have the antenna mast unscrewed, or is something else going on with that thing?

Appreciate It! Just installed those 285/70/17 Falken Wildpeaks thankfully no cutting needed.
Regarding the Antenna, I purchased the truck a few years ago with it missing, looks like the previous owner must have unscrewed the antenna mast as Shifty mentioned.
