Well im really liking these things so i was wondering

    Who has them?
    What brand are you using?
    How many 4 or 8?
Did you connect them straight to your battery since they are controlled from your phone?
    Add a fuse ?

Well please let me know im wanting to order some ASAP

I’m going to be getting new rims/ tires and wasn’t sure where I wanted to place them .

I might move them later . The Bluetooth is very iffy sometimes on the ones I have.

There’s lots of different companies selling the rock lights now. No matter what brand you go with you need to have a fuse shortly after the main power wire. You also need to have a relay after that and then the switch after that. It’s not as complicated as it seems though. Most of the kits will include a wire harness with all of that. You also need to decide if you want one color or an rgb(red green blue) that allows you to change to any color you want. Most of the rock lights start at 4 lights and go up to 12 lights. There are some great 4 light kits now days for not a lot of money and super bright. I’m running four lights on mine but there not your typical light output either. I hope that helps answer your questions.

I got a set for free from a friend. They're China specials. I've got 4, 1 in each wheel well. It's hooked to a relay on my fuse box setup. You could just buy a light bar wiring harness and hook it up to that. That will have a relay switch and fuse.
Whatever you do atleast fuse it.
They've been on the truck for over a year now and through one winter only cheap lights I've owned that havnt filled with water.

I am not a fan of the terrible Bluetooth controller. When I get time I'll cut the controller out and hookup one with a physical remote. They look cool, they don't really help me work at night but they look cool lol.

Opt7 just released these Rgb rock lights. What’s cool is they have lighting going both directions and they are RGB. The connnectors are nice since they are direct plug in.

I don’t know if they will sell much cheaper. I believe they are coming straight from China already.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but did anyone ever get/install these Opt7’s? Wondering how well they work and how easy the install is. Can any old buffoon do it?

Rock lights are pretty easy to install, just a matter of keeping the wires safe and away from moving parts and the exhaust pipes. I would recommend connecting the control box to the battery and playing with the placement of the light in the front and rear wheel wells prior to fully mounting. I used a portable battery jump box to power my controller box and held the light in different locations to see how the light spread and how the shadows looked.
24 rock lights and 3 control boxes latter my truck looks like this

Can you guys post some pics of where in the wheel well you mounted them? It looks like there’s a perfect spot towards the outside so you’d never be able to see the light itself but I am worried that it won’t throw any light out from that location.
