Good afternoon, I’m new to this forum so excuse my question if it’s been asked 1000 times before!

I’m getting a nfab bumper installed on my truck and going for a more outlander look. I’m looking at pods to sit above on the hood by the windshield as well as on my nfab Msrd bumper. I don’t need the best of the best as my truck will only see moderate off-road conditions but what is everyone using that doesn’t break the bank? I’ve heard good things about the rigid as well as I have heard good things about the rough country ones.

thanks you all in advance for the help!

I love Baja Designs but they’re pricey. Great A-piller lights, light bars, or even modern “KC” type lights.

I also like Black Oak led. American-made, a veteran-owned company, much less expensive than Baja Designs with a similar warranty. I don’t know why more people on here don’t have ‘em. I think more Jeep people do.

For dust/chase lights, I prefer Caliraised amber lenses over everything else— they’re not bright enough for A-piller lights in my opinion, but as dust/ chase lights in back (when that time comes) I think they’re m far more visible in dust than BD (too yellow; obscured by dust at high speeds) for a lot less money.

I have the RC pod lights, and I like them. So far after a few months of use, they haven't had any water or condensation behind the lens. I paid about $50 for the pair of them, including wiring harness and switch. The best thing about these pods is the DRL function. I believe the black and chrome series from RC come with the option to run a white or an amber DRL. I wired the DRL relay trigger wire directly to the parking light circuit, so the DRLs activate whenever my parking lights are on.

As far as output, it seems to fall short of rigid and BD, but you get what you pay for.

I I stalled the Offroad Town LED pods and love them. $100 on Amazon. There's a great write up about all of the figs in here. Let me see if I can find it.

I used Rigid Industries with a push bar on my 2nd Tacoma. I had the Baja Designs in the factory fog location and on my ditch brackets on my 5th gen 4Runner. The light quality is amazing on the Baja’s and much better than the Rigid’s. However the coating on the Baja’s have not held up well. The paint has flaked off and I am unable to reuse them because I cannot back out the bolts. This applies for both sets. I have not given Baja Designs a chance to to address the issue. But the light output is awesome...just be careful if you live in a salt state.

We appreciate the honest feedback and support! We do have a limited lifetime warranty on all of our LED products. Definitely sounds like something is going on with the coating and would love to address it. :) PM inbound!

Diode Dynamics SS3, if you spend more than what these cost on another brand you really are just wasting money. These really are the best quality you can get for your money, if you just want some lights that look cool get some off Amazon.

These would be the only other brand name Pod light I can think of that will not break the bank:

This all helped out a lot! I think im going to go with the RIGID D-SERIES PRO DOT/SAE J583 FOG LIGHT SELECTIVE YELLOW as they seem to have good reviews and don't brake the bank. I was trying to reply to this replys but Im not sure how to do individual reply I just see the post reply at the bottom of the page :der:

again thank you all for the help and I look forward to being part of this community!

They arrived today and they are sweet! I got 2 of them, red light for night vision, to mount under the gunwale on each side of the boat. They should be perfect for my application.

Can't wait to mount them up tonight or tomorrow.
