Laser Apps Engineer Needed in CA

So I figured I'd just throw this out there....

I am a Lead Apps Engineer for Amada America. We will be looking for another Laser Operator very soon here and I'm trying to get a jump on this. Figured I'd let the Tundra community know about it first.
This position is at the Buena Park Facility in Southern California.

Laser Application Engineer:
With minimal supervision, provides functional and technical support to Sales Engineers and demonstrates machine functions in Amada Show Plaza and at Trade Shows. Performs time studies, tool selections, and demonstrations in the Amada Show Plaza. Makes preparations for shows (on and off site), operates machinery during the show. Maintains the General Fabrication area and work area in “ready-to-show” condition.

Proficiency in the following is needed:
Laser Machine Operation in Sheet Metal
Laser G Code and Programming
Auto-cad or Drafting Software
Solidworks Programming
General Large Machine Operation
Metal Shop Experience

That all being said, you will need to go thru an interview process at the Buena Park, CA facility. HR will also interview with a background check. Physical and Medical test evaluation. I can not vouch for you but I will pre screen before you come to facility. This is a great opportunity and a good spot to be within the company.

Sounds like a great opportunity but I'm not sure I would be qualified

 

Sounds like a cool job. I'm curious as to the physical and medical exams. The benefit to the company is obvious, but is this normal practice/legal?

 

Problem is it's in California...Nanny state. Couldn't get out of there quick enough after 17 yrs in aerospace calibration. I kick myself in the ass for not leaving a lot sooner... Knott's Berry Farm is pretty cool and has great fried chicken. ...but not that cool. Lot's of high tech outfits have left Cali for here in CO. CO is not quite a nanny state yet. Does sound like a cool job though and Buena Park is ideally located.

 

Let me get back to you tomorrow. I know of an Atomic Molecular Optical Physicist.
