So my 2022 came with a $700 “gift card” for dealer service after I told them they could stick the “wheel and tire” package they tried to ram down my throat as part of my deal.

Anyway I’m up for first service / oil change, I called in to my dealer on May 19 and they said the soonest appointment my truck could have an oil change was June 2 seriously is this how Toyota operates two weeks to get a frigging oil change.

Not sure what your point of this post is?

What does your gift card have to do with a first oil change?
The first 2 years of maintenance are free, which were 4 tire rotations and 2 oil changes for me.

Is 2 weeks going to make any difference to your engine oil?
    I doubt it...
Plan ahead, schedule it and get it done.
    Next time you'll know.

If you can't wait that long, take it to Jiffy Lube, they can get you in tomorrow.:D

The universe doesn't revolve around you..

Around here it’s lifetime oil changes for free if you trust the dealership service department to do a good job.

    It's good
It's super beneficial to do your own oil changes. Half of the time I did not, I paid later.

I can understand the frustration. That isn't abnormal if it is a reasonably good dealership. It takes that long for me to schedule an oil change. If I could get in real fast I would wonder if they have openings available that fast because they nobody trusts them not to screw things up.

    I agree with this.
Not sure where the OP lives or what dealership he/she/they/their/whatever goes to.
But just like any other business, EVERYONE is short-handed since no one wants to work.
My dealership has a 30-minute oil change shop on site, but I always make an appointment a few weeks in advance.

Until you are the only person left on earth there is a good chance you will just hafta wait your turn to get things. Reminds me of things my parents said
"The world does not revolve around you"
"Want something done? Do it yourself"

    Also, you spelled Cadillac wrong.

If he thinks 2 weeks is bad waiting to schedule an oil change, imagine if his cats were stolen.
I'm on day 187 waiting for those to come in...

    Count your blessings @catalac
Be glad all you need is an oil change and not a turbo wastegate replacement..

10-14 days is about the average at my dealership and has been for as long as I can remember.

Ya I suppose I shouldn’t expect much these days, two weeks to get an oil change so I can use my gift card…. I guess that’s why quick lubes survive drive in and out in 20 mins. Have never used dealerships for service would seem by the replies two weeks is acceptable appreciate the comments to let me know this is normal.

I always just showed up at 07:30 and said, I need the xxxxxx mile service and I'll be waiting on it. Then I walk around talking with everyone and getting in the middle of their conversations with other customers. They would usually get me out fairly quickly.

Sometimes you have to wait 3-4 weeks for a service appt. They have a lot of other vehicles to work on too. Someone mentioned it earlier, but sometimes if you show up, line up at the door, and drop it off they may, or may not get to you by end of day. If they do, be sure to tip them. It helps to build relationships with the frontline employees.

Damn... I’m really sorry that happened. I’ve had my truck damaged by the service department before but it was just the passenger outside mirror that had to be replaced.

Hope it isn’t too much of a headache for you and they fix it quickly.

Toyota emblem upside down on rear wheel? Just have them replace the insert so it's right side up.

Oh.. at first glance it looked like a huge dent. I’m always worried about some careless employee damaging my vehicles while in service.

Me too, it took me a few minutes to figure out the problem.
I'm guessing one fender is matte and the other is glossy?

yep, the service department couldn’t figure out whether it was the wrong part or just needed to be painted. I am waiting for a follow up phone call.

in a nutshell, this dealer clearly has their shit together

I used the dealer for free oil changes and had to use a breaker bar to get the oil filter housing off.

They also - left a screwdriver in my engine compartment once. Somehow cut my windshield washer line clean through doing the headlight harness recall. Never reset my maintenance light I always had to do it myself.

With the fumoto valve and motive x tools oil changes are easy and fast and I don’t have to worry about someone jacking it up. And I’m sure the oil actually got changed

I'm still confused what the gift card has to do with any of this, service is included for the first 2 years, or equivalent mileage.

I got the first four years but had to pay an extra $700. That was their “dealer markup”.

Pretty sure that is with every new Toyota.
Some dealers do lifetime oil changes.

ToyotaCare | Car Maintenance & 24-Hour Roadside Assistance

    toyotacare.pdf

Every new Toyota comes with ToyotaCare,
    * a maintenance plan that covers normal factory scheduled service for 2 years or 25,000 miles,
whichever comes first, and 24 hour Roadside Assistance for 2 years, unlimited mileage.

Yea if a dealer charged you for the included two year maintenance plan I’d call that suspect
