Anyone going to King of the Hammers?

I’ll be there 2/1 and heading back home 2/3.

Just a quick midweek trip to check it out. I know, I’m going to miss the main events but hey I’ll take what I can get from :ballchain: I had to use the guilt trip of not making it to Cougar Buttes to go to this one :D

Every year! It's the one event I always go to :D I'm heading out the Saturday before and I'm codriving a UTV on Thursday, pitting for EMC Friday, and watching 4400 (should be racing that but I'm a lazy bitch).

Make a booth, can't reach a larger audience than posting up at KOH and last time I looked it was relatively cheap.

Every night is pretty crazy, usually the issue is being at the right place at the right time since the big obstacles will be full of people but not a lot of people actually going up them and putting on a show, at least not non stop. But it always looks like a highway at night going out to chocolate or backdoor. And then there's qualifying and short course and other stuff happening in town during those days too. Not quite as exciting as Thursday/Friday/Saturday but still a good time.

I’ll be there Sunday through Saturday.

Shootout Monday night can be either great, or not anything to write home about. Course location is typically hush hush till right before, but I’ve heard rumors….

every night has something going on, but you will need to find it. Could turn into a great party just about anywhere. Thursday used to be known for the Backdoor party, but that’s turned into more of a shit show in the last 5 years. So congested that nobody can even go run it. Those that do, run the risk of landing on spectator…. That sucked a few years ago. Took a long time to get him out.

Gonna be weird with the 4400 race on Saturday instead of Friday this time. Still undecided on if we will stay and watch the first finishers, or just split after the first couple hours. I’ve got a 20 hour drive to get home!

I lucked out finding the property (arguably, took 1.5 years of looking for a house) and then the lift was $2k shipped! Though that was pre covid era, now they're about double that. It's a work in progress, needs some insulation and heating and AC, but dressing appropriately is a lot cheaper and easier :D

Bought a rear sway bar, reinstalled the air bags, cranked the compression, Tundra is ready for the trip! I'll be monitoring 152.900 the whole time if anyone wants company :D

Yes sir. Complete coincidence he's a moderator on the forums. I was his "codriver" when he and I chased Amber the first year she raced, and ever since then he for some reason thought I was good at navigating. Then in October I let him drive my can am and he loved it so much he bought his racecar can am about a week later and invited me into the side seat.
