Welcome! I’m up in Ridgefield WA - used to frequent Horsefalls, Winchester, Coos Bay, Tillamook - years back before kids with quads. Good times, and yes - OR dunes are beautiful, and fun.
I got t-boned 10 years back by a Banshee running 5th gear (55mph?) and that was enough to keep me on my toes around those parts.
I’m a very defensive driver, but in the dunes you need eyes on all 4 sides of your head :D

(Banshee was at fault by the way, and my YFZ damage was minimal - rear hub, nerf bars)

Winchester Bay has always been a risky place to ride. Lots of people that don't pay attention. Spinreel and Horsefalls was always my place to go. I look forward to checking it out with the truck, different perspective than the on the YZ450F

Yea, we were heading to Banshee Hill (on quads) if I recall, and there was a parking lot with a speed limit that was highly ignored when I was hit (Winchester).
My buddy rolled a new F350 while we were camping right next to the dunes at Horsefalls - and the same weekend my wife popped the engine on her blaster.
We got married a few months later, she was knocked up shortly after that and then our ORV days were over LMAO!
I still have a like-new 2005 YFZ450 and her bored out Blaster in my warehouse. They’ll soon be coming home once our shop-build is finished and I’ll build a make-shift track for the kids to ride the blaster on.

Interesting that you walked away from the Denali. My bud has a Denali and swears by it; why the change?

    A couple of reasons:
1 - it was 2.5 years old, wanted something new :)
2 - I wanted a change, more of an off-road look (I was looking into modifying the Denali to be more off-road)
3 - (the Biggie). GM pissed me off. At 39,000 miles my High Frequency antenna died, GM denied the warranty coverage. 1 month later, the High Frequency antenna started leaking (A lot) soaking the headliner, floorboard, dash, steering column, and everything behind the dash. GM denied warranty coverage. When I purchased the truck I also purchased the Diamond Plus Extended Warranty through the dealership (National Warranty) through 125,000 miles. Was told that is it the Best extended warranty offered for GM vehicles. . . . . . They denied warranty coverage on the antenna. . . . .

    . . . . . Needless to say, I paid $700 to replace and fix the antenna. . .

. . . . . GM lost a lifetime customer. Goes to show the cost of good customer satisfaction.

Side Note** Yes I know, it was out of factory warranty, and the fine print in the extended warranty stated it does not cover GPS parts. But the leaking of the antenna is a well known and admitted issue with the GM high frequency antenna. My friend is the GM at the local dealership and this repair is the most common repair down on the vehicles. (lots of rain in Oregon). So in my opinion, out of warranty or not, this is something that should have been covered by the factory.
