Threw me for a loop as soon as I saw it. Kept thinking when I saw it from a ways back "that jeep looks odd...."

When I got closer that's when I saw how disproportionate it was!

Here in AZ I've seen a couple dualies lowered to a few inches from the pavement. Looks really stupid. Waste of the truck is all I can think.

I would agree. There are some very nicely done offroad jeeps. I just cant own one because i am too much of a Toyota fan boy.

Wanna hear something funny Brian? I am almost the same way.

I really don't like Jeeps much either and would rather SAS a extra cab 99-2001 Tacoma any day of the week. Now for the "but"....
-Toyota vehicles are just to expensive to build. The initial investment is pretty pricy, and by double since the resale is so high.
-to get a decent size tire on most Toyotas, you are either cutting or lifting big. I'm talking 38" tires or bigger.
-it is a wash on the drivetrain. They are both coming out and replaced. However, on a newer Toyota, the v-6/automatic options are plenty powerful and way better power plants.
-usually pretty big for CO trails. Great for Moab, desert running.

    The pro's to building Jeeps:

    -dime a dozen
    -aftermarket support is endless
-100% easier to build, and keep lower center of gravity.

Downsides: Jeeps are junk. They can take a beating, but they usually need a good build.

I considered a 4 door jeep. Love the idea of driving around in the summer with doors and covers taken off. But no cargo room. I can go camping in my Tundra and carry more shit than I'll ever need. So pick up it was for me.

Cousin of mine had a 4 door jeep. Tranny went out at right before 100k miles. Didn't even bother fixing it, just ate his losses and got a Ford.

Tried to get him to buy a tundra but kept repeating the old diatribe of "fords are the highest selling truck in America"

Yeah we all know....but take out fleet sales.....

    Wouldn't admit to that...oh well
