so I purchased this tent on 5/28/2018. I received it in June and it came damaged so I had to just box it back up. I reported it the same day and they had no issue telling me they were going to warranty it. Here we are in November going on December and it just now got approved to pick up to ship back to them, then I have to wait possibly another month or more to receive my new tent. Personally I had to email them so many times to get an answer from them. Customer service with them has not been that great and I spent $5300 and some change on it which is not a small amount to me. I’m not happy at all about this. I’ve tried to be patient and cool about it, but 6 months to replace a fucken tent! Really!? Has anyone had a bad James Baroud tent shipped out to you and had it replaced? Wondering what was the turn around for your claim? If this is a normal amount of time to get a replacement then ok, but this would be a first for me.

Sucks to hear about your issue with James Baroud. I would think the price you pay will get you that much more in customer service. You might have some luck on Xportal or TW. Any photos of the damage?

Ya I was about to call my credit card company cause I wasn’t getting any responses from the company but that same day I got an email telling me that they are replacing my tent and that it will be at their facility on December 17 then shipped out to me right after that. Takes two days from there. The damage was on the bottom corner of the tent. It was cracked where the dumb as freight company clearly used a fork lift even though there is tape all over it saying not to use a forklift. Honestly for the price it should be packaged better. Sure it could have been fixed, but why should I pay to fix something brand new when I paid a ridiculous amount for it. The noticeable crack is only an 1” long but it’s like 6” crack if you look real close hard to see. It’s a sick tent otherwise.FC87BE73-EC87-455B-BC56-003B9AC39770.jpg4154C962-1E4E-4F47-8ACE-0ACD9769B62F.jpg 7776AFC9-8585-43B3-82BA-F6C47A6A24B8.jpg

It's a sick tent. 1 of the innovators before all the replicators came in and shitted the market. First time I seen one I was so fascinated how long it took for deployment and break down.
Well what's gonna happen to this tent? It's gonna be fun boxing it back up and sending it back out.

Ya luckily I boxed it up right away and had it for 5 months in my garage taking up all kinds of space. Just had the freight company pick it up on Friday. My new tent lands in Seattle on dec 17th then off to me. So I should have my tent before Christmas. As for the old tent, I have no idea what they do with it. It could be easily fixed. Wonder what they will do with it.

After 7 months of waiting for my replacement tent. It finally came. Box was a little damaged but this time the tent came in perfect condition. I just finished installing it and had to move things around to make it work, but damn this thing is awesome. I feel that it’s totally worth the comfort, speed of setup and break down even with the tunnel awning. Couldn’t be happier. I also bought the under mattress insulation kit as well as the wall insulation kit. Plus it actually is nice to look at unlike the other massive box RTTs. Still have to glue the top track of the tunnel awning to finish but I’ll be raptor lining my bushwacker flares today. Truck looks naked without them. Ya to say that I was bitter about the wait time and me having to hit the vendor up monthly for any updates instead of them contacting me is an understatement. I paid over 6 grand for tent, accessories and awning and had the worst possible experience with customer service. But it came finally.

That thing is bad ass! I suggest keeping a few sandbags and rope with you to tie down the legs of the awning. Wouldn’t want to see that thing get messed up in the wind.

Thanks. It comes with tie downs and stakes. I just set it up in the driveway to make sure everything would work together. The mounts milo made for me attached to the top of the voodoo rack so I had to drill them out and mount them on the inner rails to work. We plan on a one day trip next weekend but having a hard time deciding where there’s not a lot of snow on the trails that’s relatively close by. 6D25633C-A7FB-4B66-A9EA-2CF9F79584B6.jpg

That's wicked cool! Wonder how much the delay was the vendor haggling with the freight co about who was paying for it. Even if that was the case they should have been in contact with you.

I know the feeling. I’m aching to go up to my local mountains on one of my favorite trails. But I’m worried it’s going to be nasty from all the rain and snow recently. Not looking to challenge myself too much right now!

The vendor blamed it on the tariffs. Not buying that nonsense. I was tempted to order a new one from them under my wife’s name and see if a new one got to me faster then the replacement. I personally feel like they forgot or just don’t care about their customers.

And yeah, I’m not trying to challenge myself too badly either. Trying to get used to the extra weight on the bed that high up. Feels a little different.

Ya. Just wash and wax it monthly or bi monthly. We’ll see how lazy I get and how it hold up.
