Resale for any tundra is high compared to ram or ford. And by the way the new tundra is going to be big like back in 2007 it will be the leading 1/2 ton truck on the market 450hp 30mpg 18,000 towing.

There's no recall. It's a ridiculous thread with the sole purpose of either highlighting rarity malfunctions [if it has even done that] or devolving into a troll attack about why we shouldn't drive Tundras.

Back to the horse crap now ... carry on!

Exactly. It's an over-reaction and troll thread.

No one is hating on anyone wanting to drive another truck: it's America.

This thread would be like me going to a PETA [People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals] forum and talking about the benefits of eating meat.:D

still sitting in the garage until the new one gets here, so yeah....

for now, the market was a lot different 5 years ago

I have other more exciting vehicles do that in. But the F150 will massage your ass if you feel so inclined.

The 2018 KR has been comfortable & reliable. There are other F150s in the family all have been fine. Some nice ones for DD, other fleet type for construction. Might be a shock to some but they actually work! In fact, my tundra is like the ongoing joke during family gatherings.

If anyone here has followed my posts between using both the 5.0 King Ranch and Tundra, is that I prefer to tow with the Tundra. However, tow mode mitigates some of the towing discomfort with the 10 speed. For everything else, like my 100 mile r/t commute, 5.0 F150 wins hands down. Neither one has been to the shop, but too soon to tell. I felt comfortable enough to order another to replace the tundra.

And I think the guy most excited who is about to have a totally flat rear floor, is my dog. Some will say: "Oh but @B737 you're just a dumbass and bought the wrong cab size!"... No choice with 6.5' bed on tundra, and the toyota rear floor, folding seats still suck, total waste of space. That is one of the awesome things about an F150, you can completely customize the truck to your exact specifications that YOU want, it's almost limitless.

    this thread is great!

    edit:
    * i keep writing 2019, the KR is an 18.

Disclaimer, i have never, nor has anyone in my family, owned a V6 F150 so cant comment on ecoboost-ness, all have been V8. I do have a close friend with one, and he said he likes it better than the V8.

This is no way to live... lol

thats because you have a dc .On my crew max i dont fold seats up ,instead i use this cover right on top of the seats and my 2 65 lb dogs are super comfortable and see everything out the window

cant use the seat sling thing, he's 85 pounds, too tall for it. Tried it in another vehicle, was worried he will break his leg back sliding off one of the ends. With a truly flat, unobstructed floor, you fold the set up, dog goes in the back, done. no extra stuff needed.

that was my point, you can only get a 6.5' bed with a double cab. thus getting crew cab, will not work for some buyers (me) cause you are restricted to 5.5' bed.

This was also my line of thinking to optimize trade in value and do it now. And I fully accept the F150 will never trade in like a tundra will. The tundra cost me maybe 15k to drive over 5 years?! pretty incredible. I know that wont happen with an F150. But im not buying a truck to trade it in for the next guy. Im buying it for me.

I hope you stick around when you get your new truck, even if it's just for a little bit. Hearing other peoples experiences with a different, but same class vehicle, is a great way to learn about the market.

My last 2 tundras were DC so i know what you mean about 6.5’ bed.
But now i got a crewmax and can say that i couldn’t be happier and regret not switching earlier.I use extra room in the cab more often than my bed and if i need to i can always get a bed extender plus i have an open 5x8 trailer

That is your anti lock brake system. They all do it. Took mine in right after buying it and they adjusted it and it is quieter now.

I got 39k for my Limited 2019 Tundra. The resale isn't that great. It will only get worse.

All the fuss about new integrated trans cooler yet not even one example of anyone’s transmission overheating (10-15 degrees hotter trans fuel is nothing)
or failing since 2019s came out

Here it is. It went from 47 k to 39k. 8 grand in a couple days. You must be an attorney. The resale is in fact excellent on the Tundras. Good riddance..

I am currently driving a 2017 F150 but in the market for a 2020 Limited Tundra. I have owned 5 F150's and 4 Tundras so time for a Tundra. Both decent trucks but must say every Tundra was flawless not one trip back to the dealer period. Every single Ford had multiple issues none serious except for a 2016 5.0 that had a bottom end knock at 4500 miles. Traded for the 2017. The Fords are way ahead (imho) of the Tundra in every aspect EXCEPT reliability. Looking to buy my last new truck so want something reliable. No question thr Tundra holds its value better. The latest Consumers report had the tundra rated at 75 out of 100 and Ford at 30/100 and Ram at 18/100. Buy what you want but my money is on the most reliable/best resale truck. Good luck

Toyota is 75/100 and Ram is 18/100 on resale. @TundraLaw, bring a king sized tub of lube in a year when you trade that baby in.

Nothing against you Gene. Enjoy your new truck, sir. I was referring to another member who just bought a Dodge and claims the Tundra resale is terrible. I just want him to prepare for the shock when that Ram goes back.

I hope you're right that the cooler removal won't cause any issues but I think it might be premature to say that there's no chance of a 2019+ Tundra having transmission problems given that they've been on the road for a maximum of ~16 months. I don't think your transmission is going to blow up the second the temperature gets over 200F but I also don't think anyone can say with 100% confidence that you'll be able to get a million miles out of a Tundra any more.

When I was shopping trucks last Spring, I wanted an 8' bed and and four doors. I have a 100lb older Great Dane/Lab mix and he can't jump up on the back seat of pickup, or in the bed.

Even though Ford shows an 8' bed option on their site, they didn't have any listed out of the 1500 or so F-150s in my region. My Toyota dealer had one 8' bed Tundra in stock in 4wd and it was clearance priced at $33k. Should have bought it, but went with a 2019 4Runner instead. Just hit 5k miles and no issues.

The 4Runner interior fit and finish was a bit nicer than the Tundra, and the build quality is noticeably better, as well. Rode in a buddy's new F-150 a couple of months ago and was shocked at all of the squeaks and ill-fitting interior pieces.
