Its been a hell of a ride!

Last week I bought one of the final peices I need for my vision of my dream truck. Camper shells just dont pop up where I live. Its spent about 2 years trying to find the style I want for my shell. Its not perfect yet, but its getting very very close to the end of a 3 year journey, from shreding tires to shorted ecm's, this is my '07 CrewMax's story.

When I saw this truck, I knew I had found my dream truck. So I jumped on the good ole interwebs and started searching.

A few months later, I had found one and she was mine!

It was tough saying good by to my 'lil red monster. So much time sweat and tears put into it.





I ended up selling her for 10g and immediatly bought 8g worth of parts.




She needed some new sounds, so I made a slim box with twin 12's that fits nicely behind the rear seats.



Since I had done a retrofit on my tacoma, I decided to do it again on the Tundra. Probably the most sound investment you could do on a vehicle.

The day finally came where she got her lift!




Installed some fog lights along with a oil change.



New Led brakelights




Perfect campingmobile



Crossed paths with my old red monster. It was heartbreaking to see the condition it was in. She was completly neglected. =,(





I had limo tints and it was already hard enough to see at night, so I wired in some led 2x2 bars into the reverse lines.


Trouble in paradise. The ECM shorted while offroading on the north shore of maui where there was spotty cell service. It was a $600 tow bill to get her back home. She sat at a local shop for two months while they exhausted every option before determining it was the ECM.

Had her towed back home and threw the stock tires back on as she was going to sit out in the sun for a month at the Toyota dealership



Finally after a month she was back.


She had some sun damage on the headlights, which of course toyota refused to pay for

So another retrofit project came up.

Shortly after, I had a fight with Lava rock trying to squeeze past another car on the backroad to hana. (google that, haha)



So I had to throw my stock set of wheels back on until I could afford a new set.



A few months later, picked up a set up Boggers, You can never have to much rubber!



Didnt like the second retrofit so I bought another pair of Morimoto d2s and did my third retrofit.




The mods just kept coming. 700w, 60' curved light bar.






Had a air injection valve stuck close, so I bought the byepass kit


Meguire's triple stage compound, wax and chrome polish kit. Yes i missed a spot lol.

How she sits today. Currently in the process of getting quotes to get my shell color matched.



Currently designing a roof cage similar to the picture that started it all!

Sick truck!!!

 

Hey all, just a little mini update. Been extremly busy and focused with a new job!


Decided to go with a simple cage. Fabbed my Thule Ski racks on top my cage just for my fishing poles!




Got bored and had some extra orange led marker lights. Wired them all and ran the wires threw the tubing into and around to the
running lights line in the rear. At the same time, I had a custom TEQ badge made for the grill.



As cool as it was sounding like a little cessna, the boggers were time to go, lol



Breaking the tires in.

Add a shovel, why not.


Aftermath, She's no pavement queen.


Just the classic Sunset cruise


..and the build keeps on going. She just barely broke 80k miles. ;D

From the thread title i thought you were going to get rid of your Tundra. She looks bad ass, i was in a bind between Retrofits or just get 2018 Sequoia lights, after many sleepless nights i went with the latter. It costs a lot more but the white DRLs will wipe the tears off my face. I retrofitted my LC100 and it's the best mod i've ever done to that.

How is everyone! Havn't been around for a bit but here is a update!
Finally got the shell color matched.


Started playing around with ideas!

So I ended up ordering 4x 2x8 led fog bars. Wired them all in sync. Took the back housing of a random led dome light, ran my wires threw there, filled the cap with silicone and plugged it into the bed light. Pops climbed up top to help wire it up.. and then regretted his decision lol!


Neat thing is they are wired up to the bed light.. which happens to conveniently turn on when you unlock the truck or open the doors.. I'm sure we all know that.. haha.


How she sits today 6/19/19 after giving f11 top coat a go!


Amp running boards might possibly be in the future but until next time!
