WOW, that brings back some memories. My dad bought me the same Crossman Bb rifle when I was a wee lad all of 8.
I had a great uncle visiting one week I asked him if he would shoot my new BB gun, he hesitated and I keep badgering him till he gave in. He took it and punched a bullseye at 20 yards handed it back and I noticed a tear running down his cheek, I asked what was wrong. He sat me down and told me he had not handled a gun since 1945. I asked why, he looked away and choked back some tears, I asked again and he said he’d tell me when I got older. Later that week I asked my dad and that’s when I found out about my his service. He was a 19 year old Marine who was in the first wave to go ashore at Iwo Jima.....
Fast forward some years I made a special to see him when I came home from Desert Storm, then again after Somalia.
Dam memories just came flooding back..... I think I’ll raise a glass to him tonight..

Kuul. A great guy I worked for back in Kali lost his dad on D-Day. Army. Lost his dad's only brother on Iwo. Marine. Both situations were Pure Hell on Earth. Folks that survived that rarely have much to say about it until they get old. But they eventually speak up. They want us to remember to know what happened and to not repeat. True heroes. All of them..... All of them......Ooh Rah!

I was impressed it still worked, it is over 40 years old. Was in my parents rafters until they downsized about 15 years ago so I moved it to my basement. Mostly for sentimental value.

I had bought an air soft pistol for them which they use for plinking and lantern fly population control. My son started asking me for a rifle version and I remembered the bb gun. Pulled it down, dusted it off and oiled the pump. Worked just like I remember. And he is responsible enough to handle it.

He enjoyed filling a half gallon ice cream container full of holes from 50 feet away.

It's really funny he posted this.
I found a Benjamin Franklin Model 312 .22 cal pellet rifle in my FIL's attic a couple years ago when we moved him.
From what I could find, it dates back to the late 1950s or early 1960s.

It's in OK shape, but it won't build up air pressure.
I bought a rebuild kit for it I'm installing this week since I'm off.

    Stock photo..

I'll take some pics and post them here when I work on it.

Also found a Welbey Tempest .177 pellet pistol in his house.
They were made from 1977 to 2005, this old looks pretty old.
    Haven't research rebuilding it yet.

    Another stock photo..

That Franklin is quite a find. Would be great if you get it working again. Same with that Tempest.

I have a .177 Benjamin that looks exactly like that one. Still shoots fine. It was my dad’s when he was a kid (1950s) and now I shoot it with my son.
