So I really need new shocks in the back and I was wondering if I should go with the original bilstein shocks it comes with? My shocks in my rear are cracking and that’s the only reason I’m replacing.
At 175k miles something is bound to go wrong.
here is the part for the rough country on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09QT3GHLS

I don’t even know the stock bilstein number.

I will upload photo once I get home.
Shocks are rusty and looks like it’s about time to replace. There is some cracks but no leaks.

What is cracking on your shocks? The boots? Send it. If they’re leaking, replace. But don’t get rough country shocks

Also, don’t buy shocks on Scamazon - or any car parts for that matter. Too many counterfeit parts. I’ve received good looking counterfeits. One guy here bought some $1300 shocks on Amazon not too long ago and was sent a box with stock black shocks that are $60 at the dealer.

What do you guys recommend if not rough country? Bilstein?

I’ll upload pictures of my shocks once I get home.

Lots of options, but Bilstein 5100’s and Eibach Pro Truck Sport are popular options. I prefer the 5100’s of the two.

50 years of 4x4 and off road driving and my Bilstein coil over 3" lift with UCA and Bilstein rear is the best ride I've ever had.
Everything from washboard to the rough stuff is a great ride and way better on the road.
I also agree with no Rancho. Rancho on my Jeep TJ was the worst decision I made.IMG_4154.jpg

You will regret the Ranchos. Go for the Bilsteins. No lift? 4600s with stock springs. want some lift in the front? 5100s with stock springs, or 6100s with the supplied springs. At 175k your shocks are absolutely clapped. Shocks last about 60-80k max. Even if they look fine, the function has been degrading slowly over time and they no longer control the suspension cycle like they did when new.
