All the videos that I have seen so far show the crew cab with the hybrid. Has anybody seen anything where the double cab will have the hybrid. I would be looking at a double cab 6 1/2 foot bed with a hybrid.

I’m in the same camp as you. I’d love the longer 6.5’ bed in DCLB configuration with the hybrid. Crewmax LB is out of the question as I’d like to overall length down.

Unfortunately official specs haven’t been released, DCLB also hasn’t been reviewed up close besides a few spy shots either. Here’s to hoping…

Top trims will have hybrid as an option (1794/Platinum), TRD PRO its the only option.

It has nothing to do with cab sizes

Unless you’ve seen material stating otherwise, we won’t know until spec sheets or order info is released. For all we know it could be a CM only option given the battery location.

Also it will be available on Limited trims on up, not just the 3 mentioned.

From what Toyota has said so far, the hybrid will be available on the top 3 trims. I assume that's the Platinum, 1794 and TRD Pro but maybe it also includes the Limited? TRD Pro will be CM only so it depends on whether you think the other 2 (or 3) will be available in DC or not. So far it's anyone's guess.

Sure but that is not correct either. Its available as an option with SR5 and up but it is standard with the PRO.

No mention of double cab as limiting factor but it is possible; it looks like they've compromised headroom to fit the batteries

The various Sweers interviews I watched limited it to the top three you mentioned but in the interview I posted he says its available on all but the lowest trim. Who knows.

Vid I saw said CC gets 5.5 and 6.5, DC gets 6.5 and 8.1

Besides the leaked spy shot, has anyone seen a vid with a DC in it yet? I wasn't impressed with the leaked shot, made the DC look like a CC :( Was hoping it was only a prototype.

Thats why I think double cabs will get the hybrid as an option. The hybrid set up is the torquiest option for the truck. Especially when you hear Sweers talk about diesel; Toyota looked at it as an option but the diesel certification process takes three years. Hybrid with an electric motor siting between the engine and the torque converter mimics the torque of a diesel.

It’s because of the stupid giant door handles on the tiny rear doors. They should’ve kept the style we have now. Current DC looks so good because it looks like a 2 door truck.

Yeah, and I really liked the swept forward rear window, gave it a aerodynamic sporty look. All damn trucks have a flat back window, the DC stood out...

Yup. They ruined the prettiest truck ever made.

Here’s the closest I’ve seen to whether there’s a Hybrid DC. This is a Platinum Hybrid. It’s definitely a 6.5 bed but I can’t tell if it’s a CM or DC.

    *edit. It’s a CM

All the available cab options during the release were Crewmax models- no Double Cabs.

It's just the perspective. I can't find a single pic of anything that isn't a crewmax. What would be the point of a DC if it was a virtual twin of a CC with only a diff in a few inches of door length? Hoping they decided to hold off on the DC and maybe keep some of the look we love.

the short answer appears to be no hybrid with the regular double cab.

This Motor Trend magazine article https://www.motortrend.com/features/2022-toyota-tundra-trim-levels/ clearly elude in several paragraphs that the I-force Max hybrid is only in the Crew Max.

The SR5 comes with just one drivetrain option: Toyota's new 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 and 10-speed automatic transmission.

The Limited trim is the first place we find the new 3.5-liter twin-turbo i-Force Max hybrid option for Crew Max.

Platinum Tundras are available in Crew Max only

1794 Edition Tundra comes in Crew Max only

TRD pro is crew max only as well… does that leave only the limited as possibly?

Reread what you quoted. It reads as though it's an option on Limited Crewmax.
