Tired of the wheel spin and the typical Toyota sucking power electronics, but have read the Auburns are not necessarily reliable. How many miles are on yours?

I have one sitting here ready to be installed in my 2007, the only negative reports that I have read come from those with boosted engines doing burn outs, those that used the wrong gear oil, and those trying to sell a competitors unit.

I would think the Auburn unit is stronger than the TRD/Kazuma unit I installed in my 1st gen Tundra back in 2003... that LSD works like new today, but I don't do burn outs.

I installed my Auburn LSD with 4:88 gears in 12/2018. I have about 35k on the setup.
No issues so far, the LSD has been working great.

Running Power Trax "Grip Pro" here and couldn't be happier. Uses factory gear oil without the need of an additive. And best of all never have to worry about diminished traction as a result of clutches wearing out as its a helical gear posi.

I burn out every chance I get and abuse it often. Works well with factory electronics too.

I have had mine installed for I think at least 2 years and about 20k miles. I do mild off-roading in the pine barrens of southern nj and so far no issues. No weird noises or hesitations. And it will still leave 2 lines in the road when I cut the nannies off, put it tow/haul mode and jump on the gas.

I’m thinking about putting the e-locker that recently became available for our trucks because in the next month or two I’m putting a magnuson blower on my truck. Finally got the go ahead from the boss. ( Wife )

Thank you, I am leaning towards the PowerMax, for the reasons you stated. $550 + $550 for install.

This is why I got the powertrax too. I found lots of reports of the auburn becoming useless after just a few unintentional burn outs, plus I'm boosted to begin with. Currently getting it installed this week.

To answer the original question, I had an Auburn lsd in my SC 2010 for 80k+ miles with no issues. I drove that truck pretty hard too. It still worked when I traded it in. I’ve had one in my 2018 for about 25k with no issues.

No noise at all, can't even tell it's back there actually except for the 2 black marks she leaves behind now
    :burnrubber:

Both Auburn/Grip Pro are good units at aiding traction they just deliver it differently. I prefer the peace of mind design.

By chance anyone have the carrier bearings (2) part #s and seal #? I rather not resuse the old parts as the bearings are pressed/pulled off and often get damaged. The Toyota diagram is weak at best. Thanks.

To answer my own question and to assist others.

    front pinion seal 90311A0008
    Diff gasket 4218136060
    carrier bearings (2) 90366A0020

These are for the 5.7. The 4.6 motor has different parts #s.
