I noticed recently that the Bosch ic pump wasn’t running on my s/c 5.7. I checked the connects and electrical. All good. I tapped on the motor housing with a socket extension and it came to life. Next day it was dead again. Apparently this is a common issue after digging through some internet searches. Also there is a higher flow version that is slightly different, but should fit with minor mods. Anyway, I ordered the higher flow version and should have it installed by next weekend.
Just curious if any of you have experienced this failure?

80k miles on mine, still working. I listen for the pump with key on before starting the truck. Bosch is OEM for most manufacterer's supercharged engines, surprised yours died. How many miles / years on the pump ?
If you are replacing, i would look for a brushless pump.
Please post what IAT you are getting with the higher gpm pump.

100k on this setup. Pretty sure both are brushless, but I can verify

What are you monitoring IAT’s with?

Brushless motors are pretty hard to kill, you would have to overheat the pump somehow for a bearing to seize or magnet to break. Tapping the pump and getting it to work sounds like a regular brush motor.

You cannot monitor the IAT at the manifold, the sensor is on the air filter housing. Any OBDii monitor should be able to show your IAT, unfortunately in this case it is only the air temp at the filter not the manifold.
I had an inline water temp sensor on my return coolant line monitoring the heat exchanger coolant temps, for reference it would read 20° above ambiant on extended freeway cruises topping at 40° above if i was in boost going uphill (over 50% throttle on Interstate 5 going up the hill from LA to Las Vegas), this quickly went down if you go out of boost. I would guess that if more coolant flow can reduce your IAT, that 20° delta would be higher.

    Something like this should work...

Got the new pump in today. This new pump is primarily used on Mercedes applications. Since the connection is different, I took a guess and ordered CONN-85999 from Ballenger Motorsports. Turned out to be a pretty decent guess, but it did need to be slightly modified. There is a key on the connector body that needs to be trimmed off with a razor blade. After that, it fits perfectly.
