    Hello Everyone!

I have a 2019 Tundra CrewMax Limited with stock tires and rims. I'm wanting to put the largest tire size WITHOUT a lift or level and I don't mind slight trimming. I'm reading that 295/70/R18 or 285/50/R18 are good picks.

My question to you is: how can you get a tire company to put on these larger tires that will fit with minor trimming but their computers are saying the largest tire for my Tundra is the stock 275/65/R18 and they won't install them? I don't have a garage set up or buddies who own shops to do it for me. Thanks in advance for your help!

Tell them to look up a TRD Sport or Limited, they come from the factory with 275/55/20.

Thanks for reply but that's even a smaller tire right?

My '17 came stock with 285/55R20. TSS on stock suspension. No lift what so ever.

I'm in a similar boat though. Trying to find out if I can fit 275/65R20 on mine. 1/2" narrower and 1.9" larger.

I had to do a lot of research where I learned others had added larger tires. My concern is who is going to install the larger tires when tire stores won't install larger tires than what their computers say they can install.

Usually the issue lies with Walmart and Sams club, where the employees aren’t knowledgeable enough to know what is safe, and what isn’t, and can only install the OE sizes

Find a 4x4 shop. They’ll probably do it.

Good to know and good ideas guys, thank you. Hopefully they will still have the tire and wheel specials I'm looking at. I may ask them if they would just install if I had tires and wheels delivered to them.

My brother just had 295/70/18’s put on. No lift factory wheels +60 offset. Tire shop said they will rub, he said do it anyhow, they did. Slight rub on the skid plate and front mud flaps.. Easy fix. I had 305/70/17’s put on with a lift and no questions asked at Discount Tire. Tell them what YOU want if they won’t listen go somewhere else.

Take them the wheels off of the truck and tell them to mount them.

Slip them some cash. I had my whole house replumbed under warranty after slipping the tech that said it would be denied $100.

Discount tire installed 275/70-18s, no questions asked. They fit great, stock suspension. You should know moving from the stock sizes on a Tundra means going to an E load tire, so the larger size, weight of a bigger than stock tire could impact performance (larger impact the bigger you go as it reduces the effective gearing) and you can expect to lose a few MPGs.
