I FINALLY got my GoRhino RB20 Running Boards and installed and like the RB10's, install was simple. Took about 45 minutes total. One noticeable item with the RB20's is that GoRhino made the mounting brackets a thinner grade metal compared to the RB10's. Which is odd because the RB20's are HUGE in terms of width. I would think they would have went with the heavier gauge metal but I guess we will see how they hold up.

Overall, the boards look good but I still cannot believe how damn wide they are. :eek2:

I attached a few pics for your viewing enjoyment.

They look good! I'm thinking about replacing my OEM boards with these. Cant decide between the 10s or the 20s, or even the RCI ones even though they are quite a bit more.. Just curious, how wide is the top platform? I like that the RCIs don't stick out as much but at the same time I'd be happy to have the extra protection from car doors that the 20s provide.

They look nice. I just got a set of the OE running boards. I believe they are a 6" tread.

I had the RB10's on my Platinum and they were ok but IMO had a very bland look. So far so good with the 20's. My kids love them.

Not bad they where both warped from welding one whose bad the front brackets on my 17 DB needed shimming with washers to bolt up. I do love them and will consider them if needed again but might look at sliders next time just sow I have an easy place to jack the truck up.

I mounted mine “backwards” so the wider parts was in the back. Looks better imo.

Thanks for the great pics..Not sure if Op is still around... would you mind giving your current impressions on your RB20'S after nearly one year of use? I'm looking for something that functions as a step but doesn't hang down too low. I'm also looking at protection from door dings. tx

They have held up great even thru our wonderful NY salty dirty winters! For me and the fam couldn’t ask for a better set up!

One minor thing I've noticed about the RB20 on my 2018 crewmax, is must use caution when the truck is lifted on a typical 2 post lifts that have the 4 swiveling lift arms.

The pads at the ends of the swiveling arms MUST be extended to their maximum height, or the arms might contact the RB20 brackets before the pads contact the truck frame.

If that happens, the weight of the truck is resting on the RB20 brackets, and since the brackets are attached to body's rocker panel sheet metal, the sheet metal will bend or get damaged :-(

Depending on the lift's design, sturdy blocks of wood under the frame may even be required, to get enough clearance between the lift arms & RB20 brackets.

I wouldnt count on the typical mechanic paying enough attention to this ... I would talk directly to the mechanic doing the work, not some front desk sales person.

I was obsessed with maximum corrosion & rust resistance, even though I live in a mild climate. The RB20 boards themselves have a nice powder coat finish, but the brackets & hardware underneath left a lot to be desired IMO.

Some of those bracket parts were unplated plain steel ... I passivated those with an acidic "metal prep", then rattle-can sprayed a zinc-rich "weld though primer" onto the brackets.

I also replaced all the generic, hardware store bolts with nicer automotive grade, zinc-dichromate plated, SEMS-style bolts similar to OEM Toyota bolts.

Some of the brackets didnt match the contours of the body' rocker panels and there were gaps between the bracket & sheet metal ... had I torqued the bolts properly, it would likely have bend the sheet metal. I inserted large diameter, flat "fender" washers where needed, to fill in the gaps and spread the clamping force over larger area.

I like my RB20’s for their width and to help protect the side of the truck. However, the finish and the mounting brackets leave some to be desired. Mine are two years old, but the wear on the driver’s side started after about six months. Be careful of the mounting brackets that hang down low.

Did you install those backwards? Like that look better!
Warranty is supposed to be 5 years can you follow up on that?

I haven’t even looked into warranty...I suppose I should to see if they would cover the coating. I did not instal them backwards. The wider part is in the front, which is how they are designed.

Can someone post a side profile pic with the rb20s on with a larger wheel /tire setup? Curious how they'd look with my 295s
