Going to look at an 08 5.7L 4x4 DC tomorrow with 165k on the odometer.
Any tundra specific things I should check or look for when Inspect the truck?

water pump seems to be an area of concern that might have more problems in the tundra?
Anything other typical concerns at this mileage?

Drive it in a straight line in 4HI. Mine is just as quiet in 2wd and 4wd, but others I test drove were loud and whiny.

Sit and operate every switch, every option, window, seat, lights, interior lights, heater, mirrors, it takes a while but worth it.

Study all Tundra forums on internet and then start freaking out over what could possibly go wrong and listen for the ghost of things to come (maybe).

Check the four corners around where the bed mounts to the frame for rust, look at the top side and bottom side. Some tundras from 08-12 were known to have the beds rusting from the underside up because of a manufacturing defect. Also rec doing a search for that issue if you are unsure where or what to look for.

Personally, I would spend the money and have it checked at a Toyota dealer.
