As the title states ... Trying to piece together a 6112/5160 setup. Seems the 6112's are like gold!

    Thanks for your time !

I just spoke with Toytec on Wednesday and the guy told me that Bilstein doesn't have anyone in their factory so their is literally no time table for when anyone will get the 6112's

Not what I wanted to hear... Thanks for the info though !

Guess kicking tires for anyone with remaining stock at this point is pretty much a dead end ?

    Anyone with leads ?

I appreciate the suggestion. At This point the “research” starts all over as I’m new to the suspension game. I come from the taco world and of spacers and blocks. Trying to learn from my mistakes ...

I too came from the Taco world 6 months ago. One of my first mods was a 6112/5160. Overall happy with the way it leveled out my Tundra however I cannot say that I am happy with the way it rides on concrete highways. Maybe I have too much air pressure in my tires. Good luck!

The best help I got was when I called toytec. Had a 30min convo on my exact set up and what I was looking for. They pointed out some flaws in my logic for my truck application. Ordered some parts that saved me about $1000 from what I was originally planning to go with

I appreciate the concern. I guess I have a lot more reading to do ... and shopping with availability issues. What I’m hearing is it may not be just Bilstein with supply issues. Made multiple phone calls this evening with reputable retailers. Making me wonder what I’ll end up with ...

Their Boss 2.0 set up is really nice, that would be my choice over the Bilstein's

Check out the Eibach Coilover 2.0s. I got tired of waiting on Bilsteins so decided to go with the Eibachs, so far so good. They were in stock and shipped out right away. Fully adjustable coilovers and very good build/ride quality, probably every bit as good as the Bilsteins at a very similar price. Considering nearly any other set you get will very likely have an Eibach spring on it, you might as well go to the source.

How is the handling on bumpy roads? Specifically highways. My DC has terrible bed bounce. Looking to redo the rear suspension

Would not get 2.0s if you ever decide to take your truck off pavement. They’re too small. 6112s are over 2.5s.

pretty much any other coilover is 2.5. You can get away with 2.0 rears, but not fronts.

Your right ... that’s a bit steep. Would likely take a different route before pulling the trigger on these. Thanks anyways.

I'd move on to something else. I've had 5100's on the Tundra and 4Runner and I currently have the 5160, 6112s on the 4Runner and I wouldn't buy them again. I don't think they are worth all the hype and the anti-corrosive finish doesn't hold up for s**t.

I switched over to the Eibachs on the Tundra and I'm looking at OME for the 4Runner as I had them on my FJ and loved them. That's my $.02 anyways.

Interesting ... thanks for the food for thought.
Seems there are lots of different views on this set up.

Between the availability issue and different views ... I’m really scratching my head right about now !

I've been looking at new coilovers also. 6112's are tapped out. Dobinsons IMS look nice and they're in the 6112 ballpark. I can't find a whole lot of feedback on them though
