Absolutely love the truck, but here’s my small list of gripes:

Tires: these things throw rocks worse than anything I’ve had before.
Front passenger seat: my wife is short and her feet don’t hit the floorboard. Any hacks to lower seat or mods to allow it to adjust height like driver side?
Dash: some foam shows just beneath windshield, hard to notice at first glance.
Navigation: can’t seem to lower volume when using navigation from Tundra or from phone when using car play.
Radio: does not stay on after each use of truck.
Dome light: slight rattle when driving
Paint: found a few dirt specs under paint in a few places
Exhaust: drone takes some getting used to, sounds great outside.
Storage: nothing under seat or in bed like my old Tacoma

all in all, love the truck. Will take a few items up with dealership. Looking for feedback on front passenger seat and if everyone has issues with these tires throwing rocks and hitting wheel wells.

    thanks

The only issue out of that list that I've had is the storage. As for your wifes "feet" not hitting the floor; stack up some phonebooks.

Nav and radio, maybe some software updates for the oem radio from toyota. Also update to latest Ios for latest CarPlay fixes.
btw I use maps/nav from my phone via carplay instead of toyota.

No great solutions. The easiest is putting something under the floor mat like a thick builders foam insulation - that way feet sit higher.

    Same here - pretty common.

Agreed. ESP makes a good solution.

Yes, I agree with many of the comments.. The two that hit home for me are: The tires throw way too many rocks and the stereo does not stay on, nor can I adjust the volume until the warning labels remove them from the display screen.. The stereo system sucks in general and I will probably upgrade it.. The tires are not long for this world either.. All and all, really just minor issues on such a great truck!

My wife is 5'2" and she has no problem driving and being a passenger in the truck. Also there's a setting in the menu to turn off the navigation voice. Thing is annoying, can't even listen to the radio while navigation is on.

when i use google maps in carplay, i can't turn down (or up) her navigation speaking volume -- it turns up/down the radio music. does it do the same for you?

@itsmerh85 yes. Volume knob does nothing to navigation ... albeit from Tundra or from CarPlay. I don’t like it at all

This is one reason I use Google Maps or Waze through the wireless Apple CarPlay. I rarely even see the Toyota Nav interface.

Michelins legit throw rocks. I replaced my windshield within first three months.

How did a tire throw rocks into your windshield? The stock fenders cover the entire tire area.
The tires would shed rocks into the wheel well.

    Curious...

No idea and baffled too. I'd be the only one on the road going about 60 and whack!. One finally put a chip center right above the wipers and grew from there.

I would not be too quick to blame it on the tires, especially with a windshield hit.

Had a flat tire by a rock after a camping trip. Less than 2500 miles on truck.

2 hour ride home. most rocks ejected in first few mins. After almost an hour had another one hit the wheel well, few mins later that tire was flat. Hole between treads near center line.

Got it patched and been fighting the tpms sensor light ever since, but that is a different story.

Blame Toyota for specing passenger tires on a truck. Replaced mine with truck tires before they even had 500 miles on them. But the Falken Wild peaks I picked still eject rocks like they are going out of style.

I do, no change to her volume. But it changes the radio’s volume when she’s speaking.

What do your tires throwing rocks have to do with your windshield? Your tires broke your own windshield? How is that even possible? LOL

I'm still running the michelin's, and when driving on dirt roads, have had rocks fly up on both the driver and passenger sides hitting my windshield. no one else around, so unless there's a mob of squirrels hurling acorns at my truck, it's entirely possible his windshield is getting chipped. Just another reason I can't wait to get rid of the michelin's

I feel bad for your wife not liking the seat height. I really like the Pro seats. They are big, supportive and I love the texture of the leather. The lumbar support fits my back better than most seats I've ever tried. I don't know of an easy way to lower them. I wonder if you could pull up the carpet and cut some hard rubber matting to build up the floor under her feet. That way you are not modding irreversibly. Important in resale.

Your comment about the insulation foam made me curious. Mine shows a bit too but I hadn't noticed it until you pointed it out. Now I can obsess about that. Thanks.

The lack of rear underseat storage on the CM is a definite fail. Fortunately, the aftermarket has some slick solutions. I have the DC and comes with the factory underseat boxes. Very handy and a good bit of storage in there. I keep jumper cables, a tool kit, Gazeteers, 4 way lug wrench, window cleaner, first aid kit, etc. back there. Also long enough to put my shotguns and fly rods in there, secure and out of sight.

    My biggest complaints:

1.The Tundra use of hard plastics throughout the cabin. Such as around the kick panels, seat lowers and console. It has an incredible knack for scratches and scuffs. Hopefully, Toyota will address this with the new Gen. I admit that I let this bother me more than I should. After all, it is a truck. I just hate to see materials not be appropriate where they are placed.
    2. I live in a hilly environment and like to use manual shift to assist with braking. The shifter gate is clunky moving to the left for manual override. Once there, the small bumps on the shifter up and down are fine, but getting in and out of there is not smooth and ergonomically awkward. Am I the only one who would like to see paddle shifters on the Pro?
    3. Lack of the up/down power rear window on the DC. You guys with the CM make me jealous for this. The rear window should at least be an option on the DC and the 6.5' bed should be an option on the CM.

What do I like the most?
    1. TRD exhaust! I just love it. This is the way a V-8 should sound. A Raptor pulled up beside me the other day, and it sounded pitiful by comparison.
    2. Suspension. I really dig the ride of the Fox shocks and the springs on these fronts. I had the TRD OR previously and the Fox's are a big improvment IMHO.
    3. The double hood scoops! I know I'm in the minority here, but I get it that these are only for aesthetics. YMMV.
    4. The Pro Wheels. I really dig the design and the finish.
    5. Army Green
