I just paid off my truck today in FULL and what a great feeling!

My wife and I have kinda followed and done the Dave Ramsey stuff before we even heard of him and have always tried to be fiscally conservative. Since we moved to Arizona 5 years ago we kinda fell back into some bad spending habits, or at least I did and ran up some CC's and financed some toys. With Covid and now inflation my wife cracked down again and we went back to saving, not going out to eat, and cutting down on everything we can.

We are now debt free except for our mortgage which is 30% of my income, and we own both of our vehicles and a toy hauler camper. I think we did this at the right time because I suspect the economy is going to get worse in 2022.

Congrats. People tend to underestimate what they’re capable of when they stick to a plan over the long term. Good work, both of you!

Congrats! I drove the same toyota 4 runner for 15 years just to not have a car payment. It didn’t bother me one bit to hold a vehicle that long.

This approach gave me more time to keep debt low and pay things off. If you can keep both cars paid for and not get a new one for the next 5 years it’s a huge savings. Just make sure you’re investing that extra money so inflation doesn’t set you back.

Congrats!!! Life feels so much easier without the burden of debt. I’d rather drive an older, paid for car than have a payment ever again. It makes it much easier to afford maintenance, repairs and MODS!

Congrats! My wife and I also do our best to follow Dave Ramsey but we get off track here and there…like with truck mods. :D Not having a truck payment really frees up the mod money and alleviates the guilty feeling of buying them too. Plus who wants to spend money on the bank’s truck!

Congratulations!! Me and my family have been doing Daves program since 2009. By 2013 we had paid off $35,000 in debt. We bought another house and are still working on that. ( seven years to go) I had a Tacoma for 14 years and my kids were outgrowing the backseat. So In June 2020 I was able to buy my 2015 Tundra with cash!!! Never thought I would be able to ever do that!!! In may 2021 we purchased my wife a new to her car( with cash) 2015 highlander. His plan does work if you keep plowing ahead. Proud of your hard work! Keep it up, remember “ if your friends are making fun of you your right on track”

Congrats! Its an incredible burden to have lifted. And its rare these days because so many live way above their means. Paid my truck off 6 months after I bought it, paid my bike off then sold it and paid the tractor off, and just paid the house off last month (34 years old.. i wanna effing retire early dammit). My sister is the polar opposite, million dollar house on the lake, two new vehicles, multiple CCs, new wakeboat, buys the kids whatever they want no questions asked, fancy clothes, etc etc.. shes drowning in debt but at least she can post photos of all her material bs on social media I guess?

    Congratulations brother!

My wife and I too live below our means and it is a crazy good feeling. I followed the same advice you did and got my truck paid off in 3 years. Dave knows what he's talking about. The trick is sticking to the plan and fight the urge to keep up with the Jones
