I attended the Toyota Bonus Bucks Owners Tournament dinner today and they had a 1794 TRD i-Force MAX and a regular Limited. They wouldn't let us look inside since these are pre-production but they did confirm a higher trim coming when I asked about the Capstone, although she wouldn't confirm that name but gave me the obvious grin. She also said pricing will come out in December about the same time they expect models to start hitting lots. Also an engineer on stage said the i-Force MAX is 580 ftlb on torque.

Rear backup camera on the tailgate has an accompanying LED light to make hooking up to a trailer at night easier.20211023_165418.jpg

Why would they do a fake handle if it's just an electric button in there to drop the tailgate?

Wasn't aware of it being a button instead of a handle. I did see on a video that the Pro has a button on the rear of the bed side to drop the tailgate.

Maybe you can open it both ways? What happens if the electronic button fails or the battery is dead?

I’m still thinking if you de-chrome/custom color match it and put an aftermarket bumper on it’ll be acceptable. Rear is what throws me for a loop..

That is so fucking ugly! Thankfully this damage can be undone with aftermarket grille and bumper, but I hate the idea of spending extra $$$ to make something look good, that wouldn't take much to do right out of the factory.

It looks similar to the current driveshaft, also interested in material used.

I saw a couple at the Texas State Fair a few weeks ago.
They really do look better in person than in the pics..

I'm not a fan of the huge grille either, but the truck as a whole is growing on me.
I'll probably buy one in 5 to 7 years..

    cuy456kq_f49fbc6097da555f3c2bbd1e9ff930c1f9184172.jpg bqoqlo4a_b78c4e3e9778074fabbd2b109d3f324f18ec1bb9.jpg

Seems a few manufactures are going with the big ugly grilles lately..

We'll get over it. And just like with the old model, deleting all the chrome really helps.

    3rd gen Tundra

    Pros: More power
    Better mpg’s
    Updated interior/ tech
A bit more payload & towing

Cons: Longer & wider truck with less interior room
Still the lowest payload of any 1/2 ton
6 lug rear end that’s weaker than the old 5 lug
    Departure/approach angles suck
No standard tow hooks on off-road models
    Ugliest 1/2 ton truck. Ever.

Maybe it’s just me but I’m not impressed. That might change when I drive one, who knows?

My '20 1794 is 94.5% pavement princess, so this may be a wholly unqualified post; but it looks like they're moving the entire line toward the urbane, and decidedly away from more aggressive recreation.
