    What’s up guys, I’m south.
Finally pulled away from owning the same gen Chevy 2500 for the past 16 years. I recently bought a 2014 4 Runner for my girl who couldn’t handle the snow in her Corolla anymore (she’s from texas, now lives way upstate ny (just below Canada)). Anyways. Bought the 4 Runner, loaded it up with the dogs and camping gear and headed to Maine. It blew my expectations completely out of the water. Drove amazing for a used car with 50k, handled like a dream, fuel consumption was great, storage. Everything. Fast forward to three days ago, my beautiful 2008 Silverado 2500 HD had been giving me problem after problem after problem, I was finally fed up with dumping money into a build I started and just always continued, never really finished. Hopped online and within 30 minutes sealed the deal and bought a Superwhite 2018 Tundra SR5 Crewmax with 40k. I take delivery of it mid next week, praying that it’s before thanksgiving. Thanks for letting me rant and tell my backstory of how fast I switched gears and wished I did it sooner.

Good choice. I just hopped out of a 2500HD that I'd had for seventeen years and 194k miles (though it would seem with fewer problems than what you experienced) into a Tundra. Congrats, think you'll really enjoy the new truck.

Thanks Fitz, I’ve had multiple 2500HDs but all 4 of them were 2008’s, my most recent one that I’m talking about I bought 6 years ago from a dealership that shafted me on it. Overpaid but had 72k miles, re did EVERYTHING, owning it 6 years, I’m selling it with only 81k miles…

Haha so the name South is the shortened downed, PG version of what my original gamer tag from when I was like 11 or 12 when Xbox first came out in 2001, I was always a huge dukes of hazard fan and everyone would always talk about how the ‘South will rise again’ so being 11 year old me, my gamertag was SouthHasRisen. But in todays America and being more mature. The ‘has risen’ has been dropped but everyone still calls me South.

    Welcome, neighbor.

We also have the Toyota “his & hers” (Tundra & 4R) also purchased in the same order for similar reasons. I can assure you that you’ve made the right choice.

Welcome. You will like the Tundra.

I own a 2014 Tundra and this late summer picked up a 2007.5/2008 2500HD Duramax w/120K on it. I love it. Several neighbors have asked if I was getting rid of the Tundra, and my response was hell no, why would I. Each have their own specific uses.

Welcome!!! That forerunner isn’t even broken in yet. I have 160,000 miles on my 2014 forerunner and the thing runs like it’s brand new.

Haha, also, I don’t usually speak numbers but I bought that 2500hd for as much as her 4runner cost, we all kno that price… and then I put roughly that into it for upgradeas well, my 2500hd was my baby, and she alllllways wanted to take my truck to work, which the terrifying images of her over cranking the wheels, curbing my wheels, thinking she can hit every pothole known to man hit me like a WW2 vet watching saving private Ryan. Needless to say, I won’t mind if she takes my stock* tundra and I take the 4 runner…

*this is clearly going to change. But no more lift kits..

After buying nothing but grandpa mobiles and turning them into huge, gas hog, neck breakers, it’s time I just blend in for once and leave the limelight.
