Hi, just bought a 2013 Toyota Tundra. I noticed the RIGHT front and back blinkers would HYPER flash when turning the RIGHT signal light, and the front and back LEFT signal light would HYPER flash when turning the LEFT signal light.

The front left turning signal light was out (not working). I didn’t think anything of it, I just purchased a signal light bulb from AutoZone and changed it my self. Even with all 4 signal light bulbs WORKING they all still hyper flashed when I used the right or left turning signals, which was weird.

The light bulb I replaced died out as soon as I turned off the truck and turned on it back on. I don’t know what the problem could be. Anyone know what I can do to fix this issue? Thank you!!

ensure they're pushed all the way down... or it may appear dead at times

    Welcome to the forum.
Are any of your turn signal bulbs LED?

Has this been an issue since you bought the truck, or did it just start?

Some guys install LED bulbs and are too lazy to add resistors.
This can cause the hyper flash you are experiencing.

EDIT: Good call @blackdemon_tt that could be it..

I have had my 2011 for just under a year, and my turn signals all flash quickly. I have walked around it, and all are working and in sync. They just cycle really quickly.

He didn't mention anything about LEDs.. So, I would assume they're regular bulbs not completely pressed down.... At times it almost feels like you might break the bulb to do it.... I guess bulb lubricant may be required on these bulbs to ensure it slides all the way down...

    Alot of them
The fronts need to be 3157CK bulbs. They will hyperflash with incorrect bulbs. A regular 3157 is not correct. An incorrect bulb in the front will hyperflash the rear on the same side.

It was actually not all the way pushed in. Now it works, however, the still flash quickly when turning on the signal lever, for either right or left.

I do not have LEDs I was planning on buying some nice looking headlights at HeadlightRevolution that are about 1k, however, having this problem makes m me think twice about buying them and for them not to work.

I think I’m going to buy lights all around. Do you know what the correct model of bulbs I need for the rest? Thanks!

Do you have the tow package?? or do your mirror have the turn signals in them? Do they function?? if those signals don't work, then your issue may be rooting from there....
    ^^^
Also as stated, ensure its the correct bulb and is seated all the way down... if your DRLs are not coming on or they're intermittent, then they're not pressed all the way down... I do believe its 2 clicks down.

@Tundra118 all you had to do was look at the bulb and see they are LEDs..

Thank you guys so much! Buying the regular bulbs today! I didn’t think those were LED since I always thought LED were only white and not amber. I’ll keep you guys posted.

Some threads are just more entertaining than others.

Welcome @Tundra118 from the Texas Hill Country. We've all been newbies before...some just longer ago than others. Hasn't been that long ago I didn't know an "LED" was. :D

@Tundra118 if you buy a turn signal relay for your truck that does LED it will make the LED's normal again while flashing , just have to pull the relay out and push the new one in takes 5 seconds. also cheaper than buying all new bulbs , the only time you need decoders is for driving lights like head lights/high beams and fog lights
