Huge Tundra Lean

    My Tundra has a 2 inch lean to the drivers side. I am familiar with the Tundra lean but this seems excessive. It's a 2014 DC 4X4 that I bought used 2 years ago, it had a 3/1 lift with strut spacers that I recently removed. I installed Toytec/Eibach Complete Front Coilovers to level it and removed the rear leaf spring blocks. It was leaning so I replaced the rear leaf springs and it leans just as bad. The measurements from ground to fender well are as follows. Front: Left 38 3/4, Right 39 1/4 Rear: Left 38 1/2, Right 40 1/2. I tried lifting the left front corner with floor jack the see if would level, it did not so I don't think a coil over shim would work. Is my frame bent?

    Assuming it didn’t have a lean prior when you bought it something changed when you swapped out your coilovers. I know the OEM coilovers are different from left to right presumably to account for the lean (more weight on drivers side). If it didn’t have a lean before then your frame is probably OK. I was going to suggest shims, why don’t you think they’ll work?

    Suggest calling ToyTec, they may be able to help you out. Try measuring from the center hub of the wheel to the fender and not from the ground to rule out uneven ground and differences in tire pressure too.

    Edit: I have 6112s on front set at 1.9” with 2 shims on drivers side and 1 on passenger and my front measurements from hub center to fender are both exactly 24.5” front and 25.5” rear (I put ToyTec shackles at the 1” setting).

    That is one of the most noticeable leans I have seen. There has to be something with the work that you did if it wasn’t like that prior - hopefully someone can help you troubleshoot and get you straight

    I think the lean was always there it was just hidden somewhat with the previous lift. Pretty sure the Toytec coilovers don't have a left or right, they weren't marked if they do. I don't think a shim in the front would work because I raised the left front with a jack and it didn't level out (read that was one way to check). Pretty sure the rear work is good, worked on twice- once when rear shocks were installed and second time when I replaced leaf springs.

    When you changed the leafs did you torque the shackles in the air or on the ground? Did you change the leaf spring bushings?

    Take some pictures of your frame just behind the rear bumper, near where the leafs attach.

    I only have a poor photo of it but here’s a frame hop mine had after it’s accident. Unfortunately from the bottom it’s hard to tell, from the open side of the c framing you could see it bent up like an inch or two.

    OP can you post some pictures of your suspension. Is you show where the leaf springs connect to the axle, where they connect to the bed, and where the shocks connect on to and bottom maybe we could give you some insight.

    jack up the front of the truck on level ground, set each frame rail on a jack stand of equal height then examine the rear looking for the lean. If the truck ie the rear bumper is level then you have a problem with the LT front strut or coil over. If after the front of the rails are supported on the stands and you still have lean in the rear bumper then it’s in the rear leafs. It’s important to get the front tires off the ground and it the stands be level as possible.

    Did you count the threads on the coil overs to make sure that they were the same on each side in the beginning?

    We might be getting somewhere. I put the front end on jack stands and it more or less leveled out the back (1/2 inch lower on right). I checked the front suspension and couldn't find anything out of the ordinary. I guess I'll call Toytec tomorrow.

    If yours are made like these, measure both sides from the coil to the bottom. See attachment red lines. If that measurement differs from side to side I’m willing to bet the perch locking rings are in different slots.
