I love the new look of my MGM with the pro grill. Only chrome that really stands out now are the end caps. How are you fellas color matching them? Local paint shops? Wraps? I woulden't mind getting them matched without completely rebuying the parts.

    Thanks!

I painted mine myself - sanded down chrome pieces, primer and paint. I found that Duplicolor makes a spray paint for Barcelona Red Metallic that matches pretty well. All of my chrome is gone now. Don't know how well it will hold up though, just did it about a month ago.

Here's how mine turned out...I also painted my steps with bed liner black and my tailpipe with high heat enamel black, but don't have pictures of those.

    Yes, and no.

You can get close but it's not perfect. It's more durable than painting over chrome, even if you sand it

Not sure you need the high heat paint on the tailpipe. I painted mine with some plain ole flat black and it is fine. Don't remember the brand. Probably Rustolem

I agree, but glad I went that route. I ordered my front end caps, color matched TRD Pro grill and bulge at the same time and installed together one afternoon. Totally transformed the look of the truck. I like chrome on some trucks, but not so much on the Tundra. Still need to replace my mirror caps and door handles with color matched.

I hear ya. While I had to change the grill immediately, I don't hate the chrome ends so much that I would spend $450 before throwing on a lift. Another thing added to the list.... :)

You or anyone else? I am curious because I was thinking of blacking out my wife's Nissan van's bumpers, but she has sensors (both front and rear). Sort of making me hesitant.

I didn't have any sensor issues when I swapped my front caps for color matched ones. The sensors have a clip and plug on the back that goes on/off without too much trouble. I was afraid I might run into sensor calibration issues after I tackled the swap but I did a lot of research beforehand and never found any on any of the forums. Fortunately I didn't have any afterwards either.

I don't have sensors on mine, so can't speak to that. The color match on mine turned out pretty good, but as someone else mentioned, I don't think it is as durable as powder coat. By the way, I left mine on the truck when I painted it, didn't bother to take them off.

    Dupli-color makes 3R3 color - it’s a pretty decent match.
