I am considering upgrading my TRD suspension to a Bilstein 6112/5160 combo. My concern is how these hold up against the elements, road salt in particular. I live in Upstate New York where they lay down a terribly corrosive mixture during the winter.
I have not been able to find dust boots for them. Is anybody aware of a source for boots?

I'm in the same situation as you here in VT.. I blasted the underside of my truck this fall with Fluidfilm. Not sure about my Bilsteins will hold up. They are 5100s so I don't have a lot invested in them.

Did you do it yourself? If not what did you pay for it?

Just heard about the fluid film treatment strategy a month ago and found a local shop that buys it in bulk and sprays the whole undercarriage and uses insertable spray cannulas for channels not directly open to the outside for 250.00. Figure at 10.00 a can times at least a dozen cans and laying underneath and trying to do it myself I am going to go with it.

I bought a Gallon of FluidFilm on eBay for $52 and the spay gun for $35, there was enough to lay on a good thick coating on both mine and my son's Tundras.Check out some vids on YouTube on how to do this yourself.I would not pay someone else $250 to do this.Heck, you probably could even add a small compressor and still be all in for less than $250.

Thanks for the insight, I'll probably do that.
