    Hi there
    I have 2007 lmtd 4x4 5.7l.
Every time I leave the door open the light in the bottom of the door from the internal side is on. I love to camp, while camping I often leave my doors open for a long time to sort my stuff. So I believe these lights drain the battery.. That is especially important while camping because I can stay at one place for days of even weeks, using car battery to charge my phone..
I tried all the controls, nothing works... One button next to the steering wheel is to switch internal light above my head. Another one is to switch external white lights behind the cabin and behind the bed. Nothing is for door lights...

They may go off by themselves after something like 20 minutes. I don't have the door lights that you speak of myself, Toyota dropped the feature after a few years for a simple reflector that is more battery friendly. Similarly, I have puddle lights beneath the side view mirrors that there are no manual controls for, like your door lights. When I leave the door open for about 20 minutes, they turn off of their own accord until I open/close any other door, then the timer starts over.
