Is there a way to retain the dash speaker and center speaker functionality after installing an aftermarket head unit. I have replaced my head unit with an alpine ilx-f309 and all of the speakers have been upgraded. After removing the factory head unit and replacing with aftermarket, I lost the use of the dash and center speakers. Just trying to se if there is an easy way to retain their functionality - I assume I could run a separate amp to power them but not sure I want to go to those lengths

The 2019 must be different. I replaced the stereo in my 2020 and my dash speakers are working. The 2020 dash speakers run off of the head unit, not the factory amp.

2019 is the same; run off the head unit. I guess maybe I didn't connect those wires.....I wonder which wires are the dash speakers on the wiring harness

Need more details of your setup. Are you running the door speakers off a separate amp using the pre-amp outputs? If that’s the case, some head units will disable the wired speaker connections.

If you’re using the stock wiring, the door and dash speakers are all wired into the same channel (door woofer, corner, single voice coil of the center speaker). Depending on how and what you replaced the dash speakers with can make a difference in how you troubleshoot this.

Yeah there are a few plugs back there. I have the Maestro so you have even more stiff to pack in there. I have to pull mine out to install my USB retention cable that was finally released. I'll do it at the same time I try to troubleshoot my Anytime camera.

So I replaced all of the speakers and used the "he who shall not be spoken" amp replacement and was running off the stock head unit. I did not rewire anything - used all stock wiring. I had all of the speakers working.....when I replaced the head unit with the alpine, I used the maestro RR and plug and play harness....but lost the function of the dash and center speakers. I think I may have just not connected the correct wires (my front and rear door speakers all work perfectly and it sounds MUCH better). But I would like to regain the function of the dash and center speakers if possible too

It depends on your set up. I gave up the center speaker in my set up but I'm running three ways on the dash and front doors from an amp

Do you remember what settings you selected when you programmed the Maestro? That could definitely play a role in this. Also, was your stock system non-JBL?

I remember going through the maestro flash and not having an issue - it is stock non jbl.

Are you sure you want to retain them? I disabled all of them in conjunction with my HU & speaker upgrade. A large part of the motivation was the overly brash high notes from the OEM dash speakers. They're just as junky as the stock door speakers, only smaller.

    Quality, not quantity.

Mostly because I upgraded all those speakers too when I first did the speakers and amp……I had it tuned in pretty well with the stock head unit. But got a deal I couldn’t resist on the alpine

I have to agree with @BrakeDust

I have Focal PS165FX front door components running thru an Alpine amp.
    Tweeter in the door sail.
I tried buying @james@tech12volts prewired side dash and twin tweeter center, ran them off the Kenwood HU.
They sounded ok on their own, but don't mix well with a decent set of door components.
Also the TA was a little messed up with the HU controlled dash speakers and the amp controlled door speakers.
No way to set them separately..
I ended up selling those speakers and leaving all the dash speakers disconnected.
The dash speakers were too 'in your face' with no way to fade them from the front doors.

If you wired the Alpine to the stock front speaker wiring (that also goes to the underseat OEM amp), your dash speakers should work.

This is from a 2015 but should apply to your non-JBL.

Did you reset everything to go back to normal when you install it? When I had that head unit I had the alpine head unit and KTA-450 running the door and dash speakers. then the JL amp running the subwoofers behind the backseat. Mine was a non-JBL. I pulled that crappy under sheet amp out and used the KTA.

I can try to double check with the installer to see if he had the front dash run off the head unit, the doors off the KTA and the sub on the JL. But resetting the head unit will set it back to default
