How to remove tree sap and fading clear coat?

    Does anyone know how I can restore my finish that has tree sap and clear coat that's coming off?

    For the tree sap I usually take a flat razor blade and scrape the majority of it off first without getting too close to the paint and then gently rub the rest off with a microfiber rag and some wd-40, then give it a good wash to get any residue off.

    I'm sure one of the more experienced detailers will be able to help ya with the clear coat problem, maybe @WarEagleSteve

    I've got a 98 Accord that looks like that, figured it's a lost cause. Is there actually something to do to make it look a little better?

    That's what I figured, thanks. It's just a beater commuter for the kids that is pushing 300k.......not worth it.
