Thanks, so your running wire out.
With that, are both circuits protected independently or tied together?

Yes but from what I have read elsewhere, depending on how its installed they are dependent. If installed correctly they are independent.

Yes, my point/question though is being missed. Let me find what I was reading and post a link.

So the way jaredmillerdmv installed it means main is inside and accessory wire is outside. See picture. Just trying to get an idea before I get in there and get working.

Resurrecting this old thread with some more questions. So, I’m thinking to use an “add a circuit”, and plug into an always hot fuse position. From there, I’m wondering if I can just connect the wire into the existing Power Outlet fuse slot that has a 15 amp fuse currently. Perhaps that’s what others have suggested, but this way I wouldn’t have to pull apart the dash. Though, as my truck has 4 separate power outlets (two on the dash, one in the box and one in the back), I’m dependent on them all using this same circuit.

If the goal is to make the two cig lighter sockets underneath the climate controls hot all the time, it is a simple fix.

Under the hood, pop the large fuse/relay cover off and look for the relay titled "P/OUTLET NO.1" (see red rectangle in picture below):

    Outlet-Relay-04.jpg

Pull the relay and fashion a jumper as shown in the photo below and the two outlets will be hot all the time. No risk to the circuit, the relay being jumped just activates the circuit when the key is on. It is still protected by a fuse.

Thanks for the response. I thought I saw where it wasn’t split out anymore on the Tundras, but perhaps that was incorrect. Does this same relay cover the power ports in the box and in the back?

I have not checked but I don't believe so. I never use the rear ones so that wasn't on my radar screen. BTW, my Tundra is 2018.

Just answered of my questions. Popped the box and see a separate relay. See pic below. Am I correct that I just need to pull the relay and add a jumper wire?

Will need to test to see if the same circuit covers all of the ports. E9591A09-F362-4EF4-A5D9-C61067D16C19.jpg

Very well may be true (if you are referring to "BACK P/W No.1" relay) but mine doesn't have a relay in that slot.

And...I am quickly wrong. That is for the powered back window. Going to look for a test relay that can bypass vs just a wire. Will see what I can find.

I believe all outlets are on one fuse, no?

That trick should make all hot then.

Just did a quick check. That relay “P/Outlet No. 1” only supplies the dash mounted outlets under the climate control. Need to find which relay covers the back two.

My 2015 crewmax platinum doesnt have a relay labeled "P Outlet 1" anywhere. In the place that is circled in the above pic, there is a relay for "Deicer"?

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I just finishing tapping into the power wire for the radio, which was a pain in itself because nothing I read matched with my connectors (It ended up being a lavender colored wire). I would have much rather just made a jumper. Oh well, its done and now the two fronts has constant at least

Any reason I cannot jump off a hot fuse to the cig fuse?

Cig fuse is before the relay.

So much conflicting info here. Some have the relay, others don't, etc. No detailed writeup for the other ways...I just need to have constant on to the 12V plug in the back seat. This used to be so easy with a simple jumper. Reading this thread I don't know what to do? Why Toyota doesn't change some things for years but changes this???:notsure:

I just did this to my 2018 DC and works perfectly for two front 12v plugs but not the one in back seat!:monocle: Thank you. At least I can power my Alpicool Fridge.
