Hello, I just bought a 2017 TSS Crew max with 24k miles and it rides very tough at above 75 mph. The steering wheel shakes like it a balance issue. I've seen several issues on this but no real solutions. I like Toyota's but this is my first Tundra and will trade it if it can't be fixed. Please help..

Welcome. Have you took it to a different tire shop? What type of tires you have?

    Welcome from NY.
Sounds like tires out of balance. How are the tires, any bubbles or maybe a broken steel belt?

A tire out of balance. Have all 4 rebalanced. But first inspect all tire treads for stuck rocks and insides of all wheels for stuck dirt clods. It doesn't take much.

Or.....just trade away the problem. Though I'm curious how you "just bought...." and didn't notice this.

I had the same issue with my tundra when I purchased it brand new. My tires had to be road forced balanced. I was running goodyears wranglers with Kevlar it had to do with improper tire mounting. some dude at the dealersgip said something about a plate in between that suppose to be centered. cant recall what iy actually was sorry

I had a tire plugged and it never balanced again. Moved it to the rear and the vibrations went away. I'm going to guess its a tire issue, not a Toyota Tundra issue.

It doesn't even sound like you have had a balance done yet - talk of trading the truck is a bit extreme. Call me crazy but maybe a better first step is moving the front two tires to the rear.

It's actually both. Toyota trucks and SUV's in general are incredibly sensitive to tire balancing issues and the OE BFG's or GY's that come on the TSS models aren't known to be perfect riding tires.

So sensitive in fact that just the other day I rotated my front tires side to side and am now getting a vibration I never felt before. But the 2 front tires are older than the back 2 and have a little cupping/ feathering on the inside edges. So, oh well. I'll deal with it.

I have found that the best thing to do is a road force and ride match balance. The ride match will plot the run out of the tire and wheel and will tell you how to turn the tire on the wheel in order to get the assembly as close to a perfect circle as possible.

Interesting! I'm sure you are right in all aspects of your post, and just want to highlight the stock tires are exceptionally bad. My local Discount Tire had a much easier time balancing my Nitto Ridge Grapplers than the OEMs that I never really got into balance to begin with.

I have the same as you, but no issues like that. Sounds like a bad tire or tires that haven't been rotated before you got it

I think the theme here is "Tires," my current Tundra just got new tires and had to be road force balanced, just an FYI.

My wife's mini-van had an odd vibration only above 75 MPH. Found out at the tire shop that 2 had started separating. Since they were on the van when we bought it, we bought it used, there was no warranty transition. I ended up having all four replaced even though they were almost new.

Yea for some reason like he said on the top post. It wasn’t noticeable unless I went from70-75. If I went higher it would go away

Yep, Nitto's always balance better than BFG's or Goodyears.
I'm pretty certain I will get the G2's when my BFG's are toast. I wouldn't have picked the BFG's but they were on the truck when I got it. Or, I may go 35x1250x20 Michelin Defenders. :crapstorm:

If your rims are not center of the hub it can make it happen also. That is what the aliment shop told me.
