How to: Enabling Multi Terrain Monitor (MTM) Camera Views!

Subscribing and may get into my service advisor soon. We have a pretty good situation. I always take care of the tech when any work is done on my truck.

 

i'll just put it out here. but if anyone in northwest indiana wants this just DM me.. i've got GTS on my personal laptop since i work for the dealer out here. be warned i may respond slow since im terrible at checking here during the day.

 

Has anyone that has enabled the MTM camera views had their 25TA10 recall done?
If so, did your mod stick after the update or did it revert back to 'stock' such that you had to go back in to TIS/GTS and set it up again?

 

curious about this as well since I just did the mod and would like to avoid the recall if it reverts anything. Personally not experiencing a green screen issue. I don’t see why Toyota can’t just ota the update if anything

 

Anyone in the Dallas area that can do this?

 

Just had the recall done and can confirm the mtm view was still enabled.

 

I’m scheduled in the morning for the software recall. I’m gonna try and talk to the tech and see if he will enable this for me. I will take my phone into guide him if needed.

 

Got my Limited done today. No telling how often I will use it, but I live the full view of each side camera.

I took all directions and photos and made a 9 page word document and printed it out. I saved it. I will try and upload it here for anyone to have for their use.

Took my '24 Platinum with AVS in for an oil change today and the recall software update. Sent OP's instructions to the service advisor. He said he didn't know if it'd work but they'd try. Instructions were spot on and the new MTM views are fun/useful. Another neat advantage I was unaware of is that it automatically switches to the MTM view when you go into 4L.

I have an SR5 with PVM and I added the MTS control into it with great success (minus DAC/CRAWL). Since then I’ve thought, “I would love to have the MTM, it’s just my PVM views in a different orientation, can’t be that hard” and everyone everywhere said it couldn’t be done. I’ve posted everywhere about it and I finally came across this post years later!!!

so, hoping it can be activated on a non-TRD SR5 that has full PVM!! My other issue is the dealers around here are kind of dicks about trying anything outside the box, no one would even try to activate my credit card key, saying it can’t be done. So I’m wondering without any close connections, if I can convince them to take a peek with this step by step guide to even attempt it. REALLY HOPE I CAN! THANK YOU AGAIN!

 

I have a TIS 18 in Houston of anyone wants to have it done. Cool hack for sure.

 

Excuse my skimming but to clarify

It's either PVM *or* MTM or if we follow this we unlock MTM *in addition to *PVM* that we can toggle between?

 

Did you notice any other interesting settings we could adjust while exploring the menus?

Not that I could find. Dug thru just about everything.
I did see an option for an auxiliary camera, not sure what that’s about. My truck has the bed cam and the digital rear view mirror, so it’s not that

edit: I think this is for the wireless trailer camera feature, for trucks equipped with the 3 shark fins and the wireless trailer backup camera, that interfaces with the rear view mirror and multimedia screen. I doubt retrofitting this would be possible, but maybe. Obviously you wouldn’t have 3 shark fins… but maybe the wireless camera strength is high enough you don’t need them. Would be interesting to try if someone has one laying around

 

I’ll have to post a pic later but my service advisor just came out and showed me a pic, asking if the screen in the image is what I was asking for. I said yes and asked if that was my truck - yep

This was the first one they did and the advisor said the instructions were perfect and to a “t”.

I’m here for the camera software recall and an airbag malfunction issue but asked if they could do this “mod” as well.

I already added the MTS switch myself to my '22 Platinum and sent my rep the link to this thread as well as the PDF step by step guide. I asked for a price for them to toggle that camera setting on as mentioned here.

I've seen no one mention a full calibration in either the MTS thread or this MTM thread.

 

Seems like dealership is extremely confused on what you're asking for lol. I think they're quoting you a TSS camera calibration cost?

The toggling on here takes like 5-10minutes. I got it added on during my OEM lift install, and I think they charged me like $20
