Why? Do you have better explanation to those things, the bad washer, dirty oil, not performed anything else which is required on 10K service? I'm open, i stated the facts, you give explanation as you seem to pretend being smarter than me.

Sounds like they did a ##ffyLube on you. Pull the plug. Fill while draining. Install the plug. Call it good. Paper work says "x" quarts of oil with filter. Sucker drives off happy until they figure out they got F'd. Lesson learned - DIY.

If I'm not mistaken, the standard Toyota crush washer is aluminum sandwiched in fiber. If so, that solves that mystery.

As for the dark oil, I'm going with they didn't change the oil at all.

I think it's like some sort of rubberized coating. But regardless, IMO this looks like they just reused the old washer and the multiple tightening cycles made the coating come off the washer. Since they are crush washers, you are supposed to replace each time, which I know most of you know.

Maybe they didn't have any trucks like yours on the lot so they let a customer take it for a test drive :p

Shitty dealer. I hope you take the time to fill out the Survey's that get sent.

Works for me, great investment. Especially since we do all the kids oil changes, winter / summer tire changes etc. I also bought a nice rolling seat, and a tire lift.

I just need a bigger compressor now as my impact gun won't break the lug nuts loose on our F-150s, then I'm all set. But then the old International needs the tires balanced so I started looking for tire balancers now.

FWIW, I've not done this myself but seen it done multiple times. You can put a vacuum on the engine. That'll keep all but drops of oil, in the engine. You can remove and replace the drain plug. But it's more trouble than it's worth just to double up the washers and no new oil.

So the OP said that they did a "partial" oil change to save money? So they pulled the plug and while it was draining, they installed another washer and put it back in during the drain??? Then refilled the difference????? I have those fiber coated crush washers and there is NO way that black whatever it is is coming off that washer. I honestly don't understand what is going on here. All it says to me is do your own maintenance even if it is free or easier. I will do my own maintenance til I die

My dealer pushed hard to have the survey's filled out and eluded to anything less than a 5 (or whatever the highest number is), is looked at negatively. You should quickly fill it out with all 0's or 1's.
