How do you guys let your kids climb up to cabin? I did installed step bar and that really helped. They do grab door trim but I feel like they need something else. Any one installed anything or any good idea? They are 3 and 4 :p

    Mine are 8, 9, 9, and 12. They get nothing! :D

(Saving for sliders that will act as steps)

I'm not sure what to do with any littles as young as yours...

My 3 year old just uses the nerf bars to get up, but still needs a little help actually getting into his seat. It's a bit of an awkward process but he does pretty good at least getting into the cab.

My 9 and 11 year old boys start my getting their shoes or boots as muddy as possible. Then step on the nerf bar steps, then onto the small strip of exposed carpet beside the weathertech liner. From there they sit and rub their feet most of the way up the seatbacks, all over the door panels, and on the back of the center console.

I can’t wait for the day they each buy their first vehicle. I’ll be ready. :D

Mine is four, I just throw her in.

I am going to make some slider bars for this truck. My knees are not what they used to be.

4 y/o twin girls use the factory steps and hold on to the door cup holder to get themselves in...it's cute to watch them get in and they love riding in the truck! Who can blame them?!

Get a pair of these from @Toytec Lifts . Don’t remember the name or if they still sell em, but gives me something to grab onto when climbing up into the cab

Yeah Im looking for something similar to this. Mines are still so small so if they can grab that means they are already in the cabin. Trying to add sort of extension from assist handle on headliner, like rope or something.

Ha! Mine too. I've never had issues with them being able to get up to something. Always had problems keeping them off / out. They could get up onto our counters and upper cabinets before they could walk.

Ok done for my princess. Gotta do other side for my son. Made long one and short one, linked them together. Its reachable when they stand outside. Short one will be gone when they grow up I guess. Bottom end is just around seatbelt anchor.

My 3 year old granddaughter just steps on the step board and grabs the car seat to climb in. One of the grab handles posted here would make it easier so I may try that.

I also have seat protectors on the back of the seats to protect the seat from muddy boots. The seat protectors are inexpensive and come in many styles depending on the different pockets they have on them.

Small tip here. Put gloves on! My index finger hurts from rubbing lol

Ha!!! This is funny as F!!!
I’ve thought about this a few times.

    I’m 3.5” and 35’s....

My daughter (10) figures it out.
My son (6) uses his knees to set on the door seal, then grabs under the seat and uses the door to get up.
At first after lifting, I felt kind of bad.

Then figured - Ahhh F it. I didn’t have any fancy shit when my dad had a SB CK Chev on 35’s....I just climbed the F in.

It does suck after we go hunting and the truck is covered in mud. The boy ends up pretty dirty. But whatever. That’s truck life.

My kids have the option every morning when I ask if they want to take the Lexus (gs350 fsport car) or the Tundra. It’s been the Tundra the last 5 months. Every now and then I hope they ask for the Lexus so I can mash the skinny pedal. LOL

Yeah my daughter also uses her knee to set on the running board then grab whatever she can. I let her do it and I’m ready to hold her from right behind. I just wanted to give my kids some fun climbing in :D

I do admit, I get scared at times when my son is trying to climb in with his baseball gear or something he’s trying to hold. I do fear him falling backwards and smacking the concrete.
Apparently my parents didn’t give a F given I’ve had 7 concussions LOL.

Maybe I should look into a handle. o_O

If this is a real problem then I suggest a minivan. My wife fought tooth and nail against selling her 4 runner for a Honda Odyssey. Three years later she would never get rid of the minivan until the kids are in middle school.

When you have small children there is nothing better than auto sliding doors that won’t get banged into other cars and a low step that they can easily navigate. No opening doors for them or hoisting them in. Hit the buttons, you get in and they get in at the same time, while they buckle themselves you hit the buttons and close the doors and off you go. It’s magic.

Love my tundra but when we go places with the kids it’s the van no question.

Nah we already have minivan. Its just we never had truck so my wife wants to drive plus kids keep asking to take truck when they goto preschool. Eventually she will move back to her minivan I think.

And yeah just before we got our 2nd minivan, I wanted to get out of minivan so I was trying to convince her with Escalade and Navigator but but she refused. Only because of sliding door. Sliding door > All that luxury for her.
