I know, I know, they are all over the place, but I just went to do mine yesterday and was rejected due to I have 50% tint on the window shield.
I have that tint for a reason and Houston brutal summer heat ain't no joke when you got kids in the car.

So, does anyone know a place that will pass the inspection with that tint? It's a less than two year truck, nothing wrong and no cats stolen no nothing, so it is just the tint issue.

Since you've already been rejected, you can't go anywhere else for an inspection.

In Louisiana, you can't go anywhere else if they took off the expired sticker and put a rejection sticker. If they only refused you, but left old sticker, you can go somewhere else.

    Some clarity:

So technically you don't have to go back to that one but you'll have to pay again. If you don't pass after the 2nd inspection, you pay again anyway and I think they make you go in every 2-3 months.

    Ah. OK.
Yea, they didn't even charge me yesterday, just handed me the keys and said they can't do it due to the tint and didn't charge me a dime. My stick is not due until 7/1/23, so I can wait 15 days to "phase out" the wait time and go somewhere else.
    Question is, where?

If they didn't even inspect you, you can go anywhere you want anytime you want.

They somewhat did, as they took it in and was at it for a bit, then 15 mins later drove around and told me they can't pass it due to front tint.
I am sourcing to see if a friend's shop can do it, but also want to see if y'all have someone/where that can do this, too.
EDIT: also, didn't give me any paper work saying denied/rejected, just handed me the keys and said can't be done.

How do you see with 50% on the windshield? I’ve got 85 or something like that on my Durango and during the day it’s great but come night fall it’s a pretty big drop in visibility.

I actually see very well, it is not so much for darken, more for heat rejection.
You should see my back, they are 2%, which is awesome for nighttime headlights.

Try going in with all the windows rolled down. I’ve found luck doing this at the express drive through ones that get you in and out quickly.

Haha oh man - I didn’t read this thread correctly. I thought this was about windows. That’s what I get for skimming! Good luck

I think if I can roll the wind shield down, I might not even make it to the inspection place, close to that place is a local police stop/gas station.

Fun fact, Cypress is growing so fast, and with the wider (for now) and straight roads, weekend nights we used to hear cars racing up and down and that corner of community college is the worst.
But, as crack heads would have it, they also tried to rob the gas station/convenience store, not knowing that P5 has their resting spots there, and bam! they shut down the whole intersections and brought in tons of police and tow trucks to get those off the streets.

Every suburb is blowing up. As Houston gets more crime ridden people are moving out. Sucks for those of us who like trees and greenery because all of it is getting bulldozed to make way for subdivisions and shopping centers

I agree, I bought a house in 2020 right as COVID was ramping up and Harris County got shut down, and I am like, DEEP, in the mix. From my house, to Barker Cypress to get onto 290, it's almost 12-15 mins....
But, I will not complain, the hood is pretty nice and quiet, and I have Waller County sheriff just right at the corner lot of the cul-de-sac with FBI next door to me, police cruisers and undercover all day.
